A Novel Plan
Between the Lines (2016)
*** (out of 4)
This fifteen-minute interview with Alan Dean Foster is a really interesting piece. He wrote the novelization for THE THING as well as countless others and he discusses what his job is. If you remember the novelizations from back in the 80s then you've probably read one from Foster and he does a really terrific job here at explaining every step of the process. He also goes into details about not being able to see the alien in the movie so he was pretty much working on his own there. He also talks about the alternate ending route he went for as well as scenes that aren't in the movie. This is really a good piece that fans of the novelization are going to enjoy and I'd say fans of the film will enjoy as well since there's some things that aren't in the movie discussed.
