Happy Holidays from The Chris Gethard Show! The team decided to take to the New York City subways in order to spread some Christmas cheer. Rob Malone, Bethany Hall, Random Andrew, The Human Fish, and Connor Ratliff hand deliver the Christmas Spirit to New Yorkers on the go. Unfortunately Chris hates every second of it.

In this first lesson, Hallie teaches the ukulele basics that she's picked up... specifically, how to tune, hold, & strum the ukulele. She also does a lot of carrying on about how awesome the ukulele is, while simultaneously griping about the things that are hard about it. If you're a real beginner, this video is for you. Hallie's Ukulele Army is a ukulele club for fans of "The Chris Gethard Show", where Hallie teaches TCGS fans how to play songs featured on the show. Pick up a uke and prepare for takeover!

In this episode, Hallie and special guest Chris Gethard cover "Baltimore" by the incredible Mal Blum. Mal is a great friend to "The Chris Gethard Show", and this is one of her best tunes. And, best of all, it is comprised of 3 simple chords that have already been taught in previous episodes: G, C, and D!

In this lesson, Hallie teaches "Checking In With Alyssa" using the chords A, D, and E. The song is the theme for one of our favorite regular callers on "The Chris Gethard Show", who (when she first started calling in to the show), was just a shy 16-year-old high school student who would call and tell us about her life.

In this lesson, join Hallie in the Hamptons while she teaches you to play the Human Fish's theme song. The song contains only one chord, the fantastic C minor, while also introducing the idea of using a pick to play individual notes on the uke (for that recognizable Human Fish lead guitar part). Enjoy!

This week Hallie sits down with our fabulous intern, Paige, to talk about songwriting, interning for The Chris Gethard Show, and her incredible TCGS-themed song "Am I Shaving You?". Paige teaches us how to serenade that special someone with the cutest love song ever written about a public access show.

This week Hallie is joined by Random Messenger Bag (a.k.a. Alex Clute) for a lesson on how to play "Who's Gonna Be The Random?" using the chords A, B, D and E. Watch to see many mysteries unraveled! Why does Messenger Bag have so many monikers? Why is Hallie's cat so cranky? How do you get that cool chugga chugga effect on a uke/guitar?

This week Connor stopped by to play a song by his and Hallie's favorite... Elvis Costello! (And you won't wanna miss Gethard's understated-yet-masterful performance on the BUBUL TARANG.) We're celebrating the release of Elvis Costello's new album with The Roots, which comes out next week. Connor is a long-time, super-zealous Elvis Costello fan, and he proves it in this video.

In this episode, Hallie and special guest Bananaman teach you how to play his zippy theme song using the chords D, G, and A! Bananman gives us the scoop on how he got involved with The Chris Gethard Show, what he does as his alter-ego Keith Haskel, and why EVERYONE should wear costumes to TCGS!

Once upon a time, Hallie played in a punk band called the Unlovables. The Unlovables will be appearing as the musical guest on TCGS this week, so to get you pumped up, Hallie learned to play an Unlovables song on the uke. And YOU can learn it too! Transposed to the key of C for maximum ease and enjoyment. The original's in D if you wanna be a purist about it :)

Join Hallie as she hangs out in Queens with the one and only Mikey Erg from the LLC. Learn as Mikey and Hallie teach you how to play the incredible song, "Pray For Rain", which Mikey has played on The Chris Gethard Show not once, but TWICE, to the delight of fans. And in Hallie's interview with Mikey, find out how many bands he has been in (hint: more than probably anyone you know), what it was like to be the musical guest on our first-ever public access episode, and what that cool little box is that doubles as his chair AND his instrument on the show.

Just in time for the debut of his new podcast, "Talkin' TCGS", Hallie's guest this week is comedian Griffin Newman. Griffin and Hallie cover 90's throwback, "Steal My Sunshine" by Len (with special guests Julia Nathan on banjo & cameraman Jersey Dave in a surprise cameo!). They talk about Len, TCGS as a dating Litmus Test, and what it was like to host the "Saddle-bee Neigh Hive" episode. This song is hilarious and, should you choose to cover it, only contains the chords A, E, and B over and over. The dialogue is from some weird version on the "Go" movie soundtrack, that somehow both Julia and Griffin consider the definitive recording.

Hallie is joined by Andrew Hotdog Parrish, Jamie Casbon, and Chris Gethard to cover The Velvet Underground's "Sweet Jane." Afterwards, the gang tries to get to the bottom of the Hotdog Conundrum with a game of "What's in Hotdog's Brain?" Watch as they go a little too deep down the rabbit hole getting to know the most lovably bizarre member of the TCGS family.
