Passion behind this... But still doesn't make a good movie.
aj2566312 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
As a Christian I love to support faith based movies. I much as I wanted to like this movie. It just fell flat. First off the positives. The cinematography was quite nice and looked decent. That's all the positive things I need to say. Now the negative. But first let me just say something to everyone out there that believe this is an accurate depiction of life... IT'S NOT! This is a movie it's FANTASY! People, It's not even based on a true story. Which isn't a bad thing, but when trying to make a movie as "realistic" as possible at least TRY and make it believable. Anyway, my fist negative. The movie is boring... Listen, I love slow burn dramas. But so much of this movie could have been cut! The whole "romance" between Faith and Michael could have been cut out of the entire movie and nothing would have changed. It was also boring because I just didn't care for the characters. Instead of making Faith a good character, they just killed off her parents so you would feel bad for her. Because throughout the whole movie Faith doesn't do one thing bad. Not even joking. How is anyone going to relate to that? Second, way to many side story's. It was to the point where I was confused at what was even happening. Third, instead of just making a good movie with a great story line and characters. It was as if the filmmakers were like, "We want to make a film with a great message to people." And that's it. Just because you tell a good message doesn't mean it's good. For instance, what if a pastor was speaking at a church about wisdom. He may say great things, but talks for 2 hours long and doesn't put much energy into his speaking. That's what this movie feels like. Honestly, I feel bad for the director. He shouldn't be getting so much hate (which I just call the movie business and if you make a good film you wont get hate) The film just isn't very fluent, the acting is bad, the characters aren't well handled and the plot is just a generic Christian film fun fest.

Pretty good
MCallis413 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
"Faith" was a little too perfect to be human, but she did show kids how to act as Christians, how to help others, and she never gave up. At the beginning of the movie, I would have disguised the identity of Faith's aunt and uncle losing their unborn baby, so that it wasn't revealed till Faith came to them that they were the couple who lost the baby. Faith really had a singing talent, and Uncle Roger did his God-rejecting role really well. I really loved the handicapped neighbor (I'm also disabled) who prayed for Faith. The song editing was kinda bad, and some actors were very stale, but in all it was a good effort.

Some good points but some not good
cindy-1082116 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Barf! Is my first thoughts after watching this. The worst part was the terrible low budget acting and corny story plot. There were some parts that were good but as the story drew to a close everything miraculously got better after a couple weak prayers were said corny!! Movie did not flow well.

Zero Stars if Possible
DrewClanton7 April 2018
This is the most God-awful film I have ever seen. If I had a time machine, I wouldn't go back in time and visit Ancient Greece, or the dinosaurs, I would use it to stop this movie from ever being created. This movie is so bad, it makes the Sharknado movies look like Oscar-winners by comparison. I understand that faith-based movies typically do not receive a large budget, and have to work with what they have, but neither of those reasons are excuses for the hour-and-a-half, waste of my time, absolute s**tshow that this movie is. The acting is horrendous, the plot is non-existent, the movie basically exists to glorify its fictional main character, Faith. Faith, throughout the movie, does no wrong and is never at fault, and is portrayed as a saint, even helping to stop a potential suicide (ironically, the actress's performace as Faith made ME want to kill myself). The supporting cast as well gave the worst performances I have ever seen in a movie, (and I've seen Seth Rogen try to play a superhero). These "actors" should never be allowed anywhere near a movie set for the rest of their lives, to protect the public from having to witness their lack of talent ever again. The director of this shot-on-an-Android and edited-on-a-Kindle-Fire hydrogen-bomb of a movie should retire, and hopefully hasn't quit his day job. If I was had a gun with two bullets, and I was in a room with Hitler, Bin Laden, and this movie, I'd shoot this movie twice.

It's so bad, you can't make fun of it.
manejkerr27 January 2017
Faith's song is bad. It's worse than bad. Faith's Song is the worst movie I have ever seen. The acting is bad, the production is bad, the music is bad, the editing is bad, the costuming is bad, the set dressing is bad, the WHOLE THING is absolutely, atrociously B A D. It makes Seventh Son, Found, God's Not Dead (1 & 2),and The Room all look like Oscar winning masterpieces. It is SUCH a different type of awful. It is so terrible, you can't even make fun of it. It's so disgustingly terrible, you can punish your children by making them watch it You can torture people to the point of wanting to die with this piece of "cinema." This is a rare movie that gets everything absolutely everything WRONG. If I could give this a lower rating than "1", I would.

Disgrace to Christian films
louiethepuppet29 January 2017
This movie has $156,000 budget... WHAT WAS IT USED FOR?! Yes budget doesn't mean a good film. I've seen so many more movies with less of a budget and are better. So the acting. Yeah it's terrible. At least the MAIN cast was terrible. I saw a review of this movie on YouTube and he nailed a lot of the points. Like Faith as a character is just female Jesus. SHE literally doesn't do anything wrong. The story is all over the place, I was confused for the first 45 minutes of the film and some of the side story's could have just been remove. Also, the audio in the film is so cingey!!!! When she sings it sounds so bad! I could go on but I'm done with this dumb movie. 1/10

'Faith's Song' a Delightful, Inspiring Message of Hope and Redemption
ggaleener30 March 2020
I found the film to be beyond delightful, taking the viewer through a journey that begins with tragedy and ends with victory. Just a word, however, about some previous reviews I spotted that were critical of the quality of acting, script, or the like.

The enduring beauty of a film cannot always be measured in terms of acting prowess or an A+ script. Often the more memorable (and best) films are those that deeply convey the plight of the human spirit, that is, overcoming life's tragedies and challenges. 'Faith's Song' is one such film. It's a Christian film. True, some may find the acting quality less than Red Carpet material, but overall, the cast did a splendid job with observable commitment to projecting the film's message.

'Faith's Song' contains a powerful message of faith (no pun intended), hope, redemption, and illustrates the life-changing power of the gospel message. I urge you: watch the film with an open mind and heart. You won't be disappointed, and you might even find inspiration. I hope that is the case.

So bad its funny
prestocito7 June 2021
If you like movies like where it is such a bad movie it is funny, you'll love this movie. The actors suck. My sister thinks she can do a better job and she doesn't even act. I told her maybe that's not true, but the acting was pretty bad. It was pretty funny how bad they were acting, and you can tell they are trying to do a good job. This is definitely not a movie where they are trying to make a bad movie. They were trying to make a good movie, and the failed miserably. But the worst part is this is supposed to be a about a christian girl who is trying to spread Gods word through song. She doesn't even sing! She is lip singing to some other song. Like no joke, they used at least two different artists, so she sounds totally different every time she sings. It is an absolute joke. Why can't they get someone who can actually sing, not lip sing? Even my 8 year old sister could tell she was lip singing.

Really those are the only things wrong with it. The intended message and story is pretty good, but the acting and editing ruined the movie and made it a mess. So if you want to watch a bad its good movie to watch with your nerdy friends, watch this. But if you want to watch an actual serious religious movie with no laughs but all drama, I would recommend watching something else.

Just like a Pollyanna
bkoganbing22 July 2018
While watching Faith's Song it occured to me that what this film was copying was the classic Pollyanna. Sure as I'm sitting at the keyboard writing this review this film channeled the silent classic that Mary Pickford did and the later sound remake that Disney did with Hayley Mills.

Young Hayden Grace McCoy plays the title role and she and her parents are believers. McCoy is happiest when singing and she's got a good voice for contemporary Christian music. But her parents are killed in a car crash and she goes off to live with other relatives. She doesn't have it easy being the new girl and can't understand why she's put through these trials. But Faith's faith sees her through.

McCoy is a good singer, but for the acting in the film, strictly amateur hour. Not just McCoy the whole cast.

I wonder what Hayley Mills would think if she saw this.

I absolutely loved the movie!

I think this movie is great and I wish there are more movies out like this one in the future. This movie is a great example of a true Christian that relies on god through the good and the bad. Such a positive and uplifting message!!

Two thumbs down
krtommaso19 September 2018
Although the basis of the movie is supposed to be uplifting and show a test of faith, the acting was sooooo horrible I could barely get through it. I also found it to be broken and unrealistic.

The Honest Truth
sg_mota5 April 2019
As a Christian the message of Faith and Hope after a tradgedy was great. But that doesn't make up for the bad acting and the even worse false portrayal of singing. My father being a Worship Leader this made me feel really uncomfortable with this movie. We have to take the good and leave the bad.

Warning: Spoilers
I did cry at the end, because a couple who lost a baby, didn't give birth to it. The mother didn't even look pregnant. Magically, though, they had a tombstone for the unborn kid and visited it at the end. Then that was the end of the film. They showed this couple all of 20 seconds in the beginning. Then we see another family 16 years later. So you don't know that it is a different family. You think it's the same family. The first scene is an entire sermon. This eats up so much time. Then the main character has a phone call with the pregnant teen. I swear they were talking because she said she was pregnant. So how did she know this girl from the city? Then the phone goes dead because the pregnant teens father cut it off. That plot went nowhere. They even met weeks later and didn't recognize each other. They could have shown a teen pregnancy home or something but that plot seemingly went nowhere. This movie ends in sorrow. There were so many things left out of this film. Redo it. I have never left a bad review. But someone fell asleep or got in a rush with this one. The budget is huge. The sound is off in the sings. The girl clearly isn't playing piano. Just redo this film. Also, I clicked to watch this, thinking there some girl singing into a field at that golden sunset hour with curled hair but this never happens. Ever.

Good movie with awesome gospel message!
heffalump-3483211 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Faith's Song is a good movie. It's good because it does an awesome job of presenting the gospel message of Jesus. It shows how God helps us even when it's hard to trust Him. The characters portray real people, so it's easy to connect to them. Teenagers understand what it's like to be bullied. Married couples do have a harder time after the loss of a child and that may greatly impact their relationship. While there are moments where it's obvious it is a low budget film (such as when Faith is playing the keyboard and singing at her aunt's home yet her fingers seem to be hitting the same keys repeatedly) the movie stays true to its message. It truly shows how much Jesus loves us and is there for us. This is what makes it a good movie. I recommend this movie to anyone.

Great Christian movie!!!!
princess-5203912 February 2017
I loved watching Faith's Song and cannot wait for it come out on DVD! Even though it was local actors in this movie; it was the message given for all to know that there is nothing impossible with God on your side. Do not fear the things in life, do not quit living when someone close to you passes, and never lose hope in things that are not in our control. I hope and pray that everyone will know who our lord and savior is and that you are never alone! God bless all who were involved in this movie and ignore the bad said about you. God is good all the time and all the time God is good! I hope people realize that even big names actors can play Christian's however these great people in this movie are real Christian's and know who our lord and savior is!

This movie touched my whole family, it was genuine, and an example of how we all should be, to let our light shine and let God work through us and even in tragedy, He is always there. Can't say enough good things about it, it's a must see!

Great Movie! A Must See!
dweiblefacebook11 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I have nothing but praise for this movie. I have seen it twice! Yes, it was that good! I have even "pre-ordered" the DVD. I took my 76 year old mother to see it and she loved it. She has even seen it twice. She said it was the best movie she has seen in years. My whole family has seen it and loved it. It has several different stories that all come together at the end. It touches subjects like loss of a loved one, teen pregnancy and family. If you like Christian music you will love it. Faith goes through a lot of diversity and has to find her way through them all. If you value God, family, friendship this is a must see movie for you!

Great Movie!!
jennifer_clmn11 February 2017
This movie perfectly displays what it means to "let your light shine". It shares the gospel of Christ & displays the importance of keeping your faith & helping others even when you are going through hard times. Most of the actors being teenagers was a great touch. Its a low budget film so don't expect Hollywood quality but it's still a great movie & well worth watching! Sometimes when Faith is singing you can tell (or at least is seems) that its pre-recorded audio & the acting isn't that of professionals but everyone has to start somewhere & I was still interested in the movie so no big deal! Go see this movie! Keep the Faith & always let your light shine!

The greatest message of all.
wmc089229 January 2023
A great movie with the greatest message of all, hope in Jesus Christ. That's the greatest message of all. People need the Lord, whether they realize it or not. Many of the characters in this movie were facing life changing circumstances and each one handled it differently, most in the wrong way. It was a blessing to see what can happen when we turn from catastrophically detrimental ways and trust God with the life He's given us. God is good, all the time, God is good. I'm thankful for movies like this that point the way to Christ Jesus, the one and only solution to all the woes and problems we face in this broken world we live in. John 3:16 Proverbs 3:5-6.

The acting in this movie is impeccable. Every part is so good even the part of the car crash where they run in the hospital. The singing is the best raw singing I've ever heard. Overall ten out of ten.

If you do one thing in your day, it should be watching this movie. Watching the story of a young believer struggling with loss and forced to grow up quickly, all while feeling alone as the only believer in her new world. To say this flick is inspirational is an understatement.

Just like the world around us.
fsudad-9658310 January 2024
Sad to see some of the commentary. But it's understandable. Just like the uncle's character in the movie, so there are in the real world.

This is a movie you have to try and look at through spiritual eyes.

It's not what you see. It's what you don't see. And if you don't want to see, you miss age the message.

Just about everything that happened in the movie, I have seen in almost 70 years on this earth. ESPECIALLY the loss of loved ones. Faith does serve to make you stronger. And there are many things that happen in our lives that are difficult to comprehend. I am a firm believer that God does give the strongest trials to his strongest warriors.

The fervent prayers of a righteous man availeth much.

THIS, I do know.
