Terrific Documentary
Villa Parisi: Legacy of Terror (2016)
**** (out of 4)
Film critic and historian Fabio Melelli takes us to Villa Parisi, a large location in Italy where several horror movies were filmed. The main focus of this featurette is the 1981 cult film BURIAL GROUND but many others were shot here including BAY OF BLOOD, BLOOD FOR Dracula, HATCHET FOR THE HONEYMOON and DEATH IN VENACE. Melelli does a terrific job at pointing out the various locations used for those films and then showing us how they look today. The most fascinating stuff comes in regards to BURIAL GROUND as he does a marvelous job talking about the cast members and where they came from and what they are currently doing if they are still in the movies. I really loved this 15-minute featurette because it told us so much great information on a group of people that aren't really all that well-known today and even to horror fans. The best thing was getting to tour this location and just learn about its history and the countless films that were shot there.
