Social unrest surrounding the Elias murder grows and Irving is pressured to intervene. Eleanor asks Bosch for parenting advice and confesses the truth about her marriage to Reggie Woo.

Synopsis

    In Bosch's house, Frank Sheehan opens up to Harry, he admits he did exactly what Harris claimed, and seems sorry about it. Frank also admits he killed one man in the line of duty a few years ago and it still haunts him. He was drunk at home Friday night, alone as his wife has moved out with their son. Harry says in the morning they will get a Police Union Rep and make a statement. Sheehan agrees and turns over his gun.

    Monday morning Jerry Edgar has breakfast, he spent the night at Latonya's. She helps him on with his shoulder holster.

    Harry goes out of his room, Sheehan is missing.

    Eleanor tries to find Maddie, she is missing. Reggie calls her.

    Robertson comes to work, kibitzing with Crate and Barrel. Pamela Duncan calls him, it's out online she was Elias' mistress, Robertson promises it wasn't him, and says he's sorry. Jerry helps Pierce with a warrant and video. The others show up, Robertson asks who leaked Duncan, all deny.

    Bosch goes to Sheehan's wife's house, she hasn't seen him. Sheehan has been going downhill for a couple of years since the Black Guardian incident. She looks for an address for him.

    Frank Sheehan rents a car.

    The KTK goes to a closet, picks a cell phone from a stack, and preps for another bike ride. He rides recklessly through downtown to a Police Commission public meeting. An angry crowd chant and demand justice for Howard Elias. One woman demands an impartial FBI investigation, the meeting goes sideways as Walker has her thrown out. The KTK slips out.

    Robertson blames Bosch for scaring away Sheehan. Bosch is surprised to see Jerry on the task force. They discuss Harry's story about Sheehan. There is an archived video deposition by Sheehan to find. J.Edgar volunteers to look into the original Black Guardian Kincaid murder case. Eleanor calls Harry to say Reggie called and she needs advice on Maddie. He says to meet at the Farmer's Market DuPar's.

    Lt. Billets talks to a Lt. Thorne about a 5-day suspension for one of his cops, he rebuffs her authority.

    Irving shows a pamphlet for a rally for Howard Elias, Ramos' aide Kowski urges him to react, the Chief doesn't want a major escalation.

    Harry and Eleanor have a coffee. Reggie is a nephew to a Triad Chief, Stanley Woo. She explains how Griffin got her to work for the FBI. Eleanor left Reggie because of Woo but still loves him. Harry says Maddie will understand, Eleanor rushes off to her car. A motorcycle drives by and the passenger shoots Eleanor in the parking lot. Harry rushes to give Eleanor CPR and frantically calls it in.

    Det Rooker meets Robertson, but won't help finding Sheehan. The men argue, Rooker calls Robertson a rat.

    The EMT arrive in the parking lot but Eleanor is DOA. Harry tells a cop to call FBI then rushes to find Maddie.

    The PoliceCommission protester , Miss Zealy, is released, a cop takes her to see Chief Irving. Irving says her call for the FBI is misguided, but she doesn't trust Bosch. Irving urges her not to incite racial violence. Sgt Washington comes to tell him Eleanor Wish has been shot.

    Harry goes to Maddie's school, he puts on a jacket to cover his bloody shirt. A staffer gets his daughter from class, Harry walks her out hugging and explaining.

    The Wish shooting makes the news, the Hollywood Station cops watch. Jerry hugs Maddie to take her home as Harry drops her off before returning to the scene. Bosch gets a clean shirt and asks Robertson to keep on with the Task Force. Remembering, he rushes out and manages to catch Maddie and gets Eleanor's phone pass code, 0613. In the washroom Bosch changes, pauses in thought then throws the bloody shirt in the trash.

    Harry checks Eleanor's phone, a voicemail from a male saying he is in town. At the scene Agent Griffin meets Bosch, who is furious the FBI put her in danger. Griffin says he will share what he can, Bosch denies knowing where her phone is.

    Maddie is quiet, the Edgar's greet her warmly and give her a bedroom. Latonya says Maddie can stay as long as needed. Latonya is upset that J.Edgar is on the task force.

    Harry sits impatiently in the FBI mobile command vehicle. Special Agent Lulu Wong records his statement.

    Billets outlines her plans to Irving for the Elias rally. They will hide the riot gear. Irving asks about Bosch and Wish.

    Harry goes to Eleanor's house, an FBI team is there as he gets Maddie's clothes. The FBI Agent Deng tries to get more info from him, Harry says Reggie had called that morning. Harry finds an old family photo and needs a quiet moment. Harry pockets a poker chip from the dresser and leaves.

    Lincoln brings in Sheehan's depo to watch with J.Edgar.

    Robertson follows a SWAT team into Sheehan's apartment, but no one is there.

    The cops watch the video deposition, Det Sheehan is hostile to the questioner, Howard Elias, and then angrily says "someday someone will put a cap in your ass".

    Robertson and Pierce find a handgun in Sheehan's closet.

    Harry picks up Maddie after dark, he gives Latonya Eleanor's phone to give to Jerry. Maddie is somber and quiet, and begins to weep. She wonders why he isn't more upset. Harry says he will talk to Reggie and dissuades her from seeing Eleanor's body. After Maddie goes to her bedroom Harry checks his messages, condolences from Irving and Billets. Also a message from the Riverwatch arson detectives, they have a person of interest POI. Harry gazes out on LA, deep in thought .
