The real-life Ted Gärdestad was left-handed, but in the movie, he is portrayed as being right-handed. The movie makers were aware of this fault but decided to go with it so as to allow the leading actor Adam Pålsson to play the guitar himself. Adam Pålsson has stated that Ted Gärdestads brother Kenneth (who also wrote the lyrics to the songs) advised him to play the way that felt natural for him.
Ted forgets the tape with their songs when he and Kenneth gets their record deal, while in reality this did not happen. The film makers did this change to allow Adam Pålsson to play the song live, to make for a more exciting scene.
When Ted is gonna participate in the Melodifestivalen 1979, everyone acts like it's his debut in the competition. In real life however, Ted Gärdestad also participated in 1973 and 1975.
In the film, Ted doesn't wear the suit he is supposed to wear for the Eurovision Song Contest final because of a panic attack. In real life it was decided long before he was gonna perform, he didn't want to wear it because he felt silly in the suit and wanted to look natural.
In the song "För kärlekens skull", one line has been changed.
Ted performs at Liseberg in 1972 with "Sol, vind och vatten" and "Jag ska fånga en ängel", while in reality both songs were written in 1973 and included on his second album "TED".
Ted talks about riding "Flumeride" at Liseberg after his concert there in 1972.
This would be impossible however since that amusement ride wasn't introduced until 1973.
In the film, Ted composes the song "Universum" in 1971, before he gets signed to his record company "Polar". In real life he composed it for his second album "Ted".
In the shot of the street outside the studio when the brothers are about to deliver their demo tape, a Mercedes w123 is seen driving by. This model was not available in 1972, it was introduced in 1976.
When Ted performs with "Satellit" during the finals of Melodifestivalen 1979, the background singers (who are taken from the real life performance) can be seen singing during an instrumental part.
