- Piko-Taro, an aspiring singer-songwriter performs and dance to a catchy song about a pen, an apple, a pen, and a pineapple.
- The logo of Piko-taro flashes in front of a white background which briefly tilts back-and-forth to the left at least two times.
The title of the music video is shown both in Japanese and English.
A carefree Piko-Taro appears then he suddenly exclaims the acronym of the the music video which is "PPAP" (which also appears as a text at the upper left side of the video). He starts to dance to a rhythm.
He stops dancing and starts to sing Pen Pineapple Apple Pen. He makes a gesture using his right hand as if he is holding a pen and does the same for his left hand as if he is holding a apple. He then pierce the imaginary pen to the imaginary apple and calls his contraption "Apple Pen".
He then holds an imaginary pen on his left hand and an imaginary pineapple in his right hand. Like what he did with the pen and apple shortly before he pierces the imaginary pen to the imaginary pineapple and dubs it "Pineapple Pen"
He then grabs the "Apple Pen" and "Pineapple Pen" and combines the two and calls it "Pen Pineapple Apple Pen". He then makes some dance moves while holding the "Pen Pineapple Apple Pen" which he now holds using his two hands like a skewer. He raises the imaginary contraption to the air still holding it with both hands.
Piko-Taro strikes a girly pose with both of his fist below his chin. The logo of Piko-Taro is flashed again which signifies the end of the music video.
