Review the first season
Br4ve-trave1or3 June 2018
I dont believe people that like different things should be judged or perceived as being pretentious. When did that start happening when you like a really creative unique series, that other people just dont feel the same, you're then called a gan boy or pretentious. I see reviews calling people pretentious that like this show and the positive reviews must be bought???

I actually love everything creative. I think this series isnt fmdifficult if you dont over think it. Its straight forward. This final episode asked alot more questions, but I loved how it connected back with Clark because there was a scene showed that goes to show you not everything we see in may be as it happened. Memories are being played with.

This final was a suspense filled with pink floyd playing in the trippy scene and I loved it to death! The music and montages are exceptional and add to it another piece of story telling.

Now we wonder what will David be like rendered free from the shadow king where previously we saw him stack the soldiers in a jingo stack. He was exceedingly powerful.

Melanie seemed to reveal a dark side as she sat down with Clark revealing David was the world breaker in a ominous tone.

Oliver and Lenny ride off setting up for season 2 also.

But even I dont pick at the fans of series that I cant stand. Those shows have a following and I respect it because all we need in this world is escapism so hey, if that's where you find yours, more power to you. I dont think you're the problem for liking a certain show I dont, I think maybe I need to explore why it is I dont pr just say there so much content out there who has the time watching something you dont live by the fifth episode.

Now I know the answer: the first season was a brilliant viewing experience involving every tool a showrunner could use includingthe music, cinmatography, and characters story. It created great intrigue and I believe this is the type of series that pays the loyal viewer with high rewards in future episdoes which have been done!

For a creator to write something no one has dare hung himself out there before and recieve critical acclaim for it speaks volumes, but it means more when a fan understands why this story has to tol be done. Bravo to Legion and being renewed for a third season.

Question and suggestion for jacklouise
guycorhuo3 April 2017
Who has said that piece of tech-on-hand is from the government group? Maybe you should know who David's real father is before to draw so hasty conclusions. If you don't mind to be spoiled you can check Legion/David Haller on Wikipedia or be patient and wait until 2018 to know the truth...

Not Exactly what i expected!

Warning: Spoilers
This series is great, and to say the least the finale didn't live up to its expectations. There were some great scenes in the episode like the one where David's consciousness helps him fight the Shadow king with all the chalkboard bit. Then there were scenes like I don't know Sydney foolishly (annoyingly) getting manipulated by Shadow King. Then there's Oliver! I can not begin to believe that even with the tech they have, Oliver has to manually increase power. What was he even doing!

Now, most people wanted Shadow King dead, but guys what would they do in the second season then! I mean come on. They made the most sensible decision not killing of Shadow King. Now we have something to expect from season 2:

How is shadow king going to come back?

Even in another host can shadow king use David's powers?

and what not!

Now this finale gave us what almost everyone wanted, a big showdown between David and shadow king. I don't know why is there so much hate out there people! The acting was good. Well meh! we didn't get the ending we all hoped for, but at least we have a hope for another good season.

So, 8/10 for this finale because they could've made it better, but they left it at a good place to pick it up in season 2.

Back to where it all started

Warning: Spoilers
Legion so far has been one of the best shows ever made on television and has had a different feel on superhero shows than a show like Daredevil. The finale did not disappoint and continues to move the characters in a new direction. With Professor X being revealed it will be interesting how they plan on Season 2 and the rest of the series. It will also be interesting how the Shadow King uses Oliver next season. Overall it is a great episode and the minor issue is what happened to David at the end? It's not a major issue because the show has been doing it all season long but needs to be explained Season 2. A grand origin and finale

Warning: Spoilers
This review contains spoilers.

Legion's eighth episode in the first season is the season finale and is entitled 'Chapter 8'. The episode takes place immediately after the end of the previous episode 'Chapter 7'. The Shadow King has been trapped in David Haller's mind and Division 3 has located Summerland. David attempts to strike a truce between the mutants of Summerland and Division 3.

The season one finale is a great way to cap off the season. David Haller fully awakens to his powers after his ordeal over the seven episodes. This episode caps off the rising tension with a nice conclusion to David and the Shadow King's battle. The episode continues with the arrival of Division 3 lead by Clark from the first episode. The episode has a backstory moment for the Division 3 leader which is a nice detour from the main story of David Haller.

The episode does not have many faults in the story. Each of the characters are utilized well and they each have a moment to shine. Even the re-emergence of the Shadow King into Syd's mind is handled well. The episode is directed incredibly well with many motifs being reincorporated in this episode. The only fault that I found would be in the conclusion of the season. I did not find that the orb that took David to have been foreshadowed at all. The orb seemed to be an arbitrary plot device to lead the audience into the second season.

I would recommend the season one finale 'Chapter 8'.

Grade: A

Legion Season One

The first season of Legion is excellent. Across the eight episodes of roughly 50 minutes each, the season unfolds in a unique way. The season opens with a montage of David Haller as a child until he eventually found his way into the Clockworks Psychiatric Hospital. The season develops at a fast pace and David gradually begins to understand his powers. In addition, the shadow inside of David's mind begin to manifest and reveal itself.

The season does the emergence of the Shadow King incredibly well. From the first episode, the audience can doubt David's sanity as the audience and David sees imagery that is not real. The audience gets to experience this from David's perspective as the mutants from Summerland help him. This arc is incredibly engrossing as the audience begins to understand where David is coming from. They also will side with him as the audience can see how David was tormented from childhood by an evil presence inside of him.

The side characters are fleshed out in this season. I enjoyed the interactions that David had with each of the supporting characters. Surprisingly in the eight episodes of the first season, each of the characters had a nice backstory shown that the audience can understand easily. The only weak point I had was with Kerry Loudermilk's introduction. I felt that the introduction of Kerry felt too forced. The introduction got better as the season went on and I liked both of the characters of Cary and Kerry as the season went on. The highlight is Aubrey Plaza's Lenny Busker character. This character was portrayed magnificently by Aubrey Plaza and highlighted the craziness that was present in the show.

This season is a visual treat. Although the season is not high budget, the visuals are some of the best for a comic book television adaptation. So much of the show is done in a unique way as the audience experiences David Haller's mind. There are so many unique visual flair that this season does that makes the enjoyment of the season magnified.

The star of the show is Dan Stevens. Dan Stevens does an awesome job in this season. Dan Stevens is able to portray the ambiguous nature of David Haller incredibly. Dan Stevens portrays the initially weak David Haller but gradually grows in confidence as he begins to understand his powers. He also begins to rise to the occasion, much like in a traditional hero's journey story.

I highly recommend the first season of Legion.

I feel cheated.

I'm not sure how to feel after that episode. This was such a terrible finale to an otherwise stellar season. The acting felt off, the plot was just flat out bad, and it ended on one of the worst post-credits cliffhangers I've ever seen in a TV show. I'm very dissatisfied.

It goes without saying this episode was obviously rushed. It didn't feel like a finale by any means, but rather an episode that should have been behind two more episodes.

Noah, all I have to say is... why, man?

Waste of time unfortunately. Disappointed!
jacklouise30 March 2017
So this government group spent the whole season chasing David, costing multiple lives and damaging others; only to have a piece of Tech on-hand the entire time that could have very easily just captured David.

They could have used the Tech in Episode 1 and just skipped the entire season. No lives lost. The mutants and David are so powerful, but a human made piece of tech has no problem zapping them.

And why didn't the monster sharing David leave earlier (like sometime in the last 30+ years of David's life), if it was so easy to swap hosts.

So 8+ house of television and not much happened really. Could have done it in 2 episodes.
