After the explosion, Tom, a trained operative, fails to pick up any of the weapons the guards were holding. Instead, he engages the gun thug in hand to hand combat. A trained operative would never pass up weapons when engaging a numerically superior enemy.
It makes no sense for Kirk to ask Reddington if he is Liz' father, much less ask him under torture. Kirk has the resources for a quick DNA test on hand. He had one done to match his and Liz' DNA earlier. The logical thing to do would have been to match his and Reddington's DNA.
