Always Appreciate A New Kind of Monster
twelve-house-books24 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This short film introduces a demonic-like monster that can affect its victims physically--killing them in a short period of time. It's also refreshing to see a non-Hollywood type get top billing in a film, similar to the female lead in 'An American Ghost Story.' Also, this story is a strong Cautionary Tale about getting things second-hand. Many people are thrift and antique shop customers these days. It pays to pay attention to that item you pick up. Some, indeed, are quite haunted, move around by themselves, etc.

...a haunting we will go, hi, ho, the derry-oh, a haunting we will go! Gotta give high marks to young talent for some very nice work retelling a well-loved story line with admirable economy and style. Check it out.

Nice Creepy Little Film

Warning: Spoilers
Ok, so The Armoire is a short film about a haunted wardrobe that kills any person who has it in their possession. Before Emma got the furniture we see a guy getting rid of it. Emma wants to be an actress and she comes to Hollywood to start a new life and find success working as an actress. She doesn't have much money though so she interested in cheap or used furniture so she finds this wardrobe and weird things start to happen like the sound of someone tapping their hands, her clothes on the floor instead being in the closet and eventually she comes face to face with the monster or ghost. While the movie producers call it a ghost, the creature has more of a traditional demon look and it's very effective and scary. The performances were good and the production very decent. My rating is 7/10.

A beautiful piece of furniture. a young woman in an empty apartment. and a predictable story. at first sigh, nothing new. but enough for a decent short film about a badluck thing, its temptation and the result of option to keep it. the atmosphere and the menace are the lead good parts .

Lesson learnt: never pick up furniture that is just lying on the street.

This short was creepy from beginning to end. The atmosphere was unbelievably eerie. The entity, even though you don't get a good glimpse was the epitome of nightmare material. A++
