Nothing interesting to keep you tight on your bottom
rcobac8 January 2018
Charming, but uses old lazy stereotypes and the jokes are way too old and overused. The plots are ok though but I personally saw RIGHT through them which is a bad sign if you've seen some other adult cartoons and expect something grippy to keep you interested in hopes of being wowed or giving you that fresh "interesting" high.

A fun little show surprisingly it wasn't a fox animation domination program.

If Thomas Pynchon made a TV series
nikitalinivenko26 October 2019
This was a show that got cancelled too soon; a bit of stoner comedy that I really dug. The whole show has this heavy Thomas Pynchon vibe, from the Doc Sportello-like protagonist to the town that would nestle comfortably between Gordita Beach and Vineland in Pynchon's fictional California geography. Hell, the whole thing feels as if someone loosely adapted 'Vineland' into a cartoon series. It's mellow, it's meditative, each episode is like a Zen koan (I especially liked "Mushroom Valley", "Frog Flog", and "Shabzinzo"). If you're a fan of the Big Lebowski or Inherent Vice, and are looking for something in that vein, this is, at least for the moment, the best you're gonna get.

Amazingly relaxing.

This show has a tone and a pace I'm having trouble finding anywhere else in other TV series. It's its own thing. It's slow in all the right ways and it runs more like honey rather than water. If you do plan to get into it, you shouldn't do it for the plot or the witty-ness, but rather for the way it makes you feel, I started watching it in stressful times and it was like some sort of twisted yet eerily breautiful ode to swimming with the current and just processing and experiencing the magic of life. And Echo has kickass storytelling abilities. That's the thing, the story doesn't even have to be good, but he interacts with the world, processes and then shares his experiences and feelings in such a cool way. It's a bit lik being dragged in a separate dimension, but a very calming one.

Surprisingly beautiful cartoon
liamgilchrist22 April 2018
I just created an account on IMDB to review Tarantula because I liked it so much. It's a show that is surprisingly wholesome and has a loving message behind it which is something that has been lacking in a lot of tv at the moment. It's characters are all flawed but well meaning. It's really beautifully written and in 10 episodes I fell in love with the characters and their struggles to survive and get by.

The main character of Echo is brilliantly written as well and the last episode where you begin to find out more about him brings the series together in a somewhat sad way.

It's maybe something you need a certain outlook to appreciate but it's a nice change to see a show about the people who are struggling day to day at the bottom of society and showing them as the complex humans that they are.

Hopefully they decide to renew for a second season because Tarantula is a special show. Well worth your time.

It's felt like a long time since Iv'e enjoyed a series like this. Acho's character is charming, witty and always knows how to uplift the atmosphere no matter how big the situation.

a funny King of The hill esque comedy with lots of heart
dreadfullmeyay26 January 2018
While not the greatest show out there (some episodes seem kind of weak) this show gets a lot right with its characters (and the character based comedy), setting and tone. Most of the heart comes from the main character Echo who has an inmate need to help people and the relationship between Penny and her daughter. at first it seems like your average "stoner comedy" but it throws you for a loop with its season 1 finale.

Great show with good writing and likable characters. I'm very sad they didn't make another season or two at least.
