Warning: Spoilers
"Legendy Polskie Smok" or "Polish Legends: The Dragon" is a Polish 14-minute live action short film from 2015 and another one from the Polish Legends short film series. As the title says, there is a dragon in here (a pretty mechanical though, but there is more like corrupt criminal politicians, abducted girls etc. The only part I kinda liked here was the early mockumentary sequence. It comes sadly short in all other fields and the final mockumentary part was as mediocre and forgettable as the rest of it like the rushed-in romance thingey near the very end. Baginski is an Oscar nominee for his animated short film work and he really has come up with some excellent achievements back then and like I wrote in the title of my review here, this is where I hope he will return at some point because honestly the live action stuff I have seen from him simply isn't on the same level, maybe also because apparently he did not write this one. Overall I give this quarter of an hour a thumbs-down. It was not disastrous or a failure or anything, but way below the level I hoped for that would have been good enough for a positive recommendation. Watch something else instead.

Wonderful take on traditional tales

Absolutely unique in polish cinematography. Amazing acting, music, dialogues, characters and of course effects.

The 5 short epidodes bringing to life different characters from slavic/polish folklor in much modernised form.

Another great project of Tomasz Baginski.

Great job for a short format scifi entertainment movie. Every detail is well thought and relate to polish legend but aproach them from completely new angle. It's a very interesting futuristic take on traditional tales.

Absolutely loved it! Especially choice of music was fantastic.

The whole 'Polskie Legendy' project definitely deserves attention. It's a perfect mix of great cinema, entertainment and social commentery.

A serie using the Polish legends, in new forms, reminding old virtues in provocative, as purpoise, manner. "Smok" is a mix of against Russian feelings , coruption of officials, sexual crime of ex-military and romance. Interesting but not having the most inspired end. But, sure, a decent work in which a new David, using technology, is the winner against a sort of Goliath, using a new version of Pandora. Nice. And not more.
