I love watching random movies with interesting titles on Tubi, so when I saw this I laughed, I was like, "Oh wow" and then I read the descriptoion and thought, okay well maybe this isn't what I think it is.
It wasn't. Firstly, everyone but the dad, mom and daughter was a miscast and horrible actors. I know this is probably low budget but lord. The dad was GREAT because he was creepy and played the part of, "A gross predatory man preying on the thristy friend of his daughter, who is almost half his age." It was very uncomfortable and I thought the story would call this out but it didn't. So the "plot" is just simple but with no ending really? The daughter is friends with a girl named LaToya who is a gamer girl. Whose really good at games. It's clear to me she's only friends with her to get close to her dad, which she does. Firstly Latoya is a miscast. The way the dad and his group of devs at the job talk about her is gross. The movie really overdoes praising Latoya for her looks, body and opinions. Latoya seemed at times like she had a darker side, but really, she was just a boring girl who could play games who got the attention of a creepy creep and his creepy collegues. Thats it. The actress didn't give much of anything. Her looks or body didn't stand out for all the fawning that the creeps did. Which is NO shade to her. She's a pretty girl, she's just not what they were playing her up to be. She looked very young and she DID look like the average girl who plays games. Just not the way the Devs who are probably 10+ years older then her were acting. It came off gross honestly. Her lips were also white/chapped in some scenes, but she did the best she could. Overall the movie's vibe was uncomfortable every time Latoya and the dad were on the screen. Anyway, the mother moved to france for work, comes home, talks to her husband, agrues with her daughter then finds out her husband is sleeping with Latoya.
She goes off on Latoya, slaps her and then...nothing much happens. Oh besides the weird subplot of Latoya's ex boyfriend attacking her and her friends in the most comical way ever. In the end, everyone is just there. Latoya graduates, she's at some show or something, the dad's there. The daughters all smiles. I guess they are togeather.
The movie confused me because it's not a comedy. It's a drama. A drama where nothing happens in the end. The only thing I felt was confusion and disgust watching the Dad and Latoya. I don't know, maybe it's a first time try or something. The mom finding out lead nowhere. Even when Latoya told her friends what she'd did, their reactions were weird and pointless.
Just more ass kissing of the creep. The scene when they were playing the game in the trunk of the car was so bad. Latoya repeated the same lines twice in the MOST boring dead way ever. "I've beat you hundred times Clay" The mocap scenes, everything was just hilarous. Not in a good way.
I will say that it was nice to see the Mother who was in a movie I loved, Belly. I apologize if this movie was a students first film or something but...yeah, it wasn't good.
