A female villain wears clothing that reveals some cleavage and side exposure to her breasts, throughout the season. No full nudity, and scenes are brief.

Some sexual references in a club scene. References to prostitution: it is suggested that a women should help work off a man's debt by working in a hotel. She replies, "I'm not ho-ing for anyone." Later there is a scene that takes place at the hotel and it is implied that prostitution is occurring there.

Post coital scene with a main female character and her girlfriend. The rest of their conversation takes place while they are shown wearing only panties. No full topless nudity is shown, breasts are strategically covered by camera angles, arms, etc. The issue of sex trafficking is further developed in this episode and is a major part of the plot. There is passionate kissing between adults.

There is no nudity and scenes always cut away before anything explicit.

Some sex scenes between lesbian couples: an ep has a scene of a couple of women after having sex; they're both topless while talking in bed but nudity is estrategically covered by camera angles. Some other scenes that include undressing to underwear and making out (sex is implied but not shown). Frilting and kissing are frequent. A heterosexual married couple makes out and has sex off-screen. Sexual trade is a subplot, and some sexual language is used such as "ho-ing" "screwing" "banging" etc.

You don't see anything major in all of the show

A man rips out another man's ear.

There are fighting scenes throughout the season. Mostly non graphic. There are some bloody fight scenes as well.

Guns are used by gang members. Tazers are used by racist police. An unnamed man is thrown in a tank of piranas by a crime boss and it shows (not graphically) the man getting bitten by some of the fish and the tank fills with blood. A character is harpooned in the chest or shoulder. There are superhero stylized fight scenes.

Someone's spine is ripped out disturbing and very upsetting graphic

Show includes plenty of mild profanity such as "bitch", "ass", "damn", "hell" etc.

One of the characters nearly drops the f-bomb before they were interrupted.

The n-word is present during a rap performance.

There are plenty of references to drug or alcohol abuse. The main protaginist has a clear stance against this abuse.

A main character is smoking. It is not clear if it is weed. A main character in highschool is drinking at school with a friend and getting drunk. Her boyfriend later calls her out on it, so it is not depicted as healthy.

A main character makes a reference to being stoned.

The show contains slightly mature themes. It deals with racial tension, gang violence, drug use, prostitution, gun use and social justice issues.
