Summaries

  • Peña hatches a plan to try to capture Cali leader Gilberto Rodriguez. Amado proposes a business idea to Pacho.

Synopsis

  • Peña is prepping a Tactical team of National Police and asks for their cell phones, explaining to Calderon that they have information that some of them work for the Cartel. Peña reveals to Calderon that they are arresting one of the "godfathers of the Cali Cartel". A montage narrated by Pena describes how Gilberto Rodriguez was a "man in control", per the schedule kept with his three wives and his plan to retire safely. Peña tells the tactical team if anyone kills Rodriguez he will kill them. The raid is a failure as Gilberto is not there. Jorge's man is outside and reports that the raided house does not belong to the Cartel. In Juarez, Amado explains the opportunity represented by Juarez after NAFTA to Pacho and asks Pacho to join him and build a new Cartel after retiring from Cali. The search for Gilberto is over, but it was a ruse to cover Peña's true operation to pick up Gilberto at another location. Maria sleeps with Miguel. Jorge arrives at Mrs. Salazar's house to retrieve Maria's son. She is hostile, pulls a gun on Jorge and refuses. Peña brings Calderon to the house were Gilberto is, where he sees that Colonel Martinez is assisting Peña. Gilberto is discovered hiding in the house and taken in to custody. Navegante takes Mrs. Salazar as a hostage so he and Jorge can escape with Maria's son. Calderon steals a police vehicle to warn Cartel security that Peña is moving Gilberto to the airport. Martinez and Peña speed to the airport while the Police intercept the wrong truck. Miguel is informed of Gilberto's arrest. David arrives at Maria's apartment with security to protect Miguel. Nicolas arrives and asks to be allowed to help. Martinez and Peña arrive at the airfield to find that police have surrounded the plane. Martinez confronts the young officers and they allow him through. Gilberto boards the plan with Peña and Martinez. He faces press when the plane lands and a voiceover explains that the arrest "surprised everybody". Peña arrives home to celebration by co-workers and a reprimand from Crosby because of the work he has undone regarding the surrender. But, the Colombian Attorney General allows the arrest to stand. Nicolas visits Gilberto in prison to provide him with legal counsel. Miguel questions his leaders to determine how the DEA were able to arrest Gilberto. Peña and Martinez share a drink to celebrate, but Martinez says he has resigned because his name was planted on a list of cops on the payroll of the Cartel in the papers Feistl and Van Ness took from Guillermo's office, ostensibly as a way to undermine the legality of the operation. Miguel informs Pacho and Chepe of Gilberto's arrest.
