The end:( Please bring back The Coroner!
safenoe29 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
According to the BBC, the series isn't based on (or inspired by) the book The Coroner by M.R.Hall. Now that we've got that out of the way...I grew to like the Coroner as it progressed to series 2, and then the rug got pulled out by someone in TV authority so adios to series 3:( Not happy at all.

Oliver Gomm as Clint looks so much like David Spade's doppelganger big time. He doesn't get much screen time in this episode and maybe a spin-off can feature Clint.

Here Jane investigates the death of a female teenager in a car accident, where it turns out she was the passenger and her boyfriend the river.

Jane and Davey reminisce about the sixth-form leavers' disco and how Cath broke them up over lies and misunderstandings.

This sadly is the final ever episode of The Coroner:(

I love the Coroner and it's a miscarriage of justice it got axed. It deserved a third season on all the metrics. The Coroner is a show I can watch over and over, like Inspector Lynley, DCI Banks, Rosemary and Thyme, The Last Detective, New Tricks (all unjustly axed), and Vera (thankfully still on).

Why can't another TV channel pick up The Coroner?

Too many plots, character arcs and side action packed into 47 minutes
prcmd6 August 2020
One only episode in this two year series hit its mark: Perfectly Formed in the second year stuck to solving a mystery complicated by every suspects having a seemingly solid alibi but all lying to the detectives. That complicated plotting alone took 47 minutes but used the time todeliver a satisfying twist ending. Overall the show's main characters are engaging and one looks forward to the innerplay between the detective mother and rambunctious teenage daughter. The problem is that the dramatic arcs of the main characters occupies too large a fraction of each episode, hogging the time needed to develop a richmystery. It's sad because there were a lot of positive elements in The Coroner. It simply tries to do too much, leaving the resolution of each episode rushed and thin.
