Wow...what an episode...

Warning: Spoilers
Halloween brought some crazy patients to Angels Memorial. One in particular results in all-out chaos on this episode of CODE BLACK.

The patient, who is delusional, has a gun...which turns out to have deadly consequences. The security guard tries to stop him as he waves his gun about, but the guy gets his gun and starts shooting. People are all getting on the ground, but Charlotte is out there and was working with a little girl that was dressed up as her movie character. All of a sudden we see Charlotte dive in front of the girl to protect her. As it turns out, Charlotte got shot!

They are working on Charlotte, and, as per usual, Campbell and Leanne argue over what to do with Charlotte, as he wants to take her to surgery, but she said she is not stable.

They are now working on Charlotte. They could not stop the bleeding and Campbell said there is nothing else they can do. Leanne wants to continue all life-preserving measures, but Cambell said she knows it has been too long. Leanne calls the death and it brings on the tears for not only everyone in the hospital, but us watching, too!

Mama talks with Leanne and said it is not her fault and she sent her out there to work. When Leanne tries to make sense of it all, it breaks my heart even more than before. "She's someone's daughter," Leanne says, tears streaming down her face.

Angus goes against his dad and Campbell's wishes and he removes the breathing tube for Mike. His sats cannot plummet below 80 or they have to or they have to place him back on the ventilator...but Angus and Mario are rooting him on. He gets to 80 and Leanne tries to go in, but Angus said give him time. Then all of a sudden, he takes a breath and the tears are back again! We lost one, but we got one back also! What an emotional ride!

The ending is what made this episode so amazing

Warning: Spoilers
Wow! What an episode! I have to to say, I did not see that coming.

My money was on Mike to be the one to bite the dust in this episode. Not that I was rooting for him to kick the bucket...it just seemed like the logical option.

But the writers really pulled the rug out from underneath of us fans. They didn't stop with the great dead doctor switcheroo of 2016. I felt for sure that Ethan would hold onto his secret for a little while longer and that when he spilled his guts, it would be Leanne he would turn to.

It's tough to believe that we were so invested in Charlotte only to have her knocked off so quickly. CODE BLACK is not shy when it comes to writing!

I thought we were over all the cast changes after Christa and Neal exited. Wasn't the point of booting them to bring in three new peeps?

Not only am I going to miss the promising young Charlotte, but I'll also be mourning the story of Jessamine. The sting of Charlotte's loss is tempered by Mike's survival. Now, we're still not positive that there isn't any brain damage. It's hard to imagine that he'll be back to heading up the ER anytime soon. Which is too bad, because Campbell's micromanaging is driving everyone batty.

Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if there was walk-out because of him. Also, how does he get away with all the administrative screw- ups he's made? The patient who shot Charlotte was only able to because he basically shelved the dude.

Ethan finally opened up about what brought him to Angels -- and what we were expecting to be a MOAS turned out to be...touching. Honestly, I don't know why he's been shy to talk about it. That's the kind of story he could pick up ladies with, in the bizarre event that a person who looks like Rob Lowe would need helping picking anybody up.

It felt a little weird that he revealed it to ... a) a shrink who b) he's only had brief encounters with. It wasn't the most awkward thing, but it wasn't the most organic either.
