The permanent signage on the front of the school named for Mills spells his name with a superfluous apostrophe (MILL'S).
The device on the dog's head is what allows Oli to hear his dog's thoughts. He removes the device from the dog's head on the bedroom and he can no longer hear his thoughts. The next scene they're in the dog park and they're still talking even though the dog no longer has device on his head.
The story takes place in 2019 and Ollie is 12 years old, so his parents got married no later than 2007. However, the recording used for their wedding dance song was first released in 2014.
The Global Cyber Protection Agency fears a "collapse of the banking industry and loss of cell service nationwide" and they send only two agents to investigate...by car. It takes them at least two days to arrive at Ollie's house. Seems like a lackluster effort considering the stakes.
