It was very interesting to watch and I love how unpredictable it turned out to be. Very good quality and acting. The movie keeps your attention to the end.

The Illusion of Control is a film where everything, absolutely everything, is not what you think it is

Victor has a talent - he makes money literally on everything and has excellent intuition, which allows him not to get into big troubles. In the first minutes of the film, we see how he lived and what he did from childhood to the present days. It is mentioned that the hero made a big mistake only once in his life, and this mistake cost the life of his father. But he put up with the loss and continued to live on, getting richer and richer.
At this point, I confess, I got bored, because I thought that the moral of the film is going to be "a friend in court is better than a penny in purse". But no - the plot showed that Victor is not interested in money, but in the process of earning money.
The second time I made a mistake with the genre and morality was when the hero got into a car accident. During the examination, the doctor found an inoperable brain tumor in him, and his wife offered to go to some healer in the Carpathian Mountains. At that point I thought the story will be about overcoming oneself and the miracles of rebirth. But again no!
Victor decides to live far from civilization next to the healer. One day in the forest, he finds a bunker stuffed with electronics. Inside Victor discovers secret archival surveillance footage of him throughout his life since childhood.
"Well, now I've definitely figured out the genre," I thought. "Next there will be either mysticism or hard science fiction!" And again, I was totally wrong. The movie wasn't about that at all. And the further development of events together with the epic unpredictable ending made a very good and strong impression on me!

I accidentally stumbled upon the movie "The Illusion of Control" on one of the internet resources, while looking for something to watch before going to bed. The description intrigued me so much that I didn't look for anything else and did the right thing! To say that the movie surprised me is an understatement! An unusual, cool twisted plot will not leave, in my opinion, any viewer indifferent! We watched without being distracted for a minute, so as not to miss anything and not lose the thread of the story, and maybe even guess who, what and why did all this with the main character. But, fortunately or not, none of us succeeded in predicting the ending. The film managed to disarm us. Everything didn't turn out the way we imagined. The film is cool and I admire the work of the Ukrainian screenwriter/director/cinematographer! Everything about this movie is top notch! Of course, I recommend to watch and evaluate this work!
A incredible must-see film for fans of strong psychological thrillers. No spoilers

Absolutely by accident, without much desire, I chose to watch this film and was literally stunned by its incredible plot!!! A few days ago I left a review for the 1997 "The Game" movie with Michael Douglas and here you are - get a modern version of that incredible psychological drama!
The plot is presented so beautifully at the beginning of the film that it seems that now there will be a funny comedy like "Now You See Me" 2013, but it wasn't anywhere near!!! This is a masterpiece - my mind was broken into pieces while watching it - the plot twists change so quickly and dynamically that sometimes you don't have time to keep track of everything. There were moments when I could not figure out where the real reality was.
The thriller is very powerful - you are in suspense throughout the whole film, there are murders, chases, explosions. The drama is strong - betrayals and setups of friends, difficult relationships between the parents and the child. Magnificent views, locations, accompanying music - sometimes you get distracted by some kind of peace and pleasant atmosphere - then again drive, dynamics, plot twist.
I am very excited about the movie. Recommended to all fans of psychological dramas and thrillers! By the way, do not turn it off as soon as the credits go - the creators left you a surprise))

It was fantastic, I would even say perfect in today's reality!!! Guys, I have no words. Just finished watching this creation and my rating for the film is 10 out of 10. It's worth it!
For the first 20 minutes you think: "What kind of nonsense is this? Why am I watching this? .."
First impression is that you don't understand anything... This is some kind of..
"Is the director going crazy? Or me?"
All genres seemed to be mixed together... They added different houses - beautiful forests - extraordinary nature - various clothes -...
And everything happens very quickly, even for me)) As time goes by, you look at the screen and think only about one thing: "Well, well, what's next? Mmm ..." All in all very intriguing... And interesting! Fascinating!!!
It has everything - businessmen, contracts, secrets, surveillance, nature, private helicopters... For example scenes in the forest... this is an unusual settlement with weird people living in it. Maybe I didn't watch this type of films a lot - not really my genre. But it seemed to me that everything was shown in a new way here. And very unusual...
I didn't quite get the ending. Explain to me, please, who understood ... Not the whole film, but the very end. The rest was excellent. For me, it all happened too fast. The head is still spinning.)))

I watched this movie with my husband yesterday. Oh my god, I love it! Hurry up, grab some popcorn and watch the movie!
The very beginning of the film makes you to be immediately involved in the process. A lot of information is given out. My brains boiled a little from such a load at the very beginning. Interesting start to the story...
Toward the middle, I found the film to be a little boring, long. Throughout the film, the audience and the main characters do not understand what is happening. The whole movie keeps you in the dark. At first, this causes curiosity, intrigue, but over time, there are even more mysteries, and at some point, boredom appears.
At one point, there was a feeling that there was already too much with riddles. A thought flashed through my head: "Well, I already understood that everything is so hidden there. Can you already show what is behind the scenes?"
However, all this uncertainty makes you continue to watch the film. What is hidden there, who is behind this all? Sometimes I was delighted with how everything is thought out to the smallest detail. The appearance of the lead actor (Oleg Fendura) in this role seemed to me somehow stupid. Although he plays a smart, successful man, I couldn't help feeling like he was some kind of smuggler with his beard.
The ending is just awesome, I loved it a lot! My eyes widened in amazement, my jaw dropped in shock. I screamed loudly: "This is f..king .... incredible .... What a cool movie!" This emotion came at the very end. The creators have been preparing you for this moment the whole movie. I cried with the main character at the very end. Because I imagine what he had to go through... It's really hard... I advise everyone to watch this movie. Watch, relax, enjoy, sometimes get bored)) By the way, you will also have to think a lot )) I'm beginning to think that I like thrillers the most...

So cool to see such a fantastic film from Ukraine, especially during such a horrible time for their country. Loved seeing a nice variety of footage from different areas of Ukraine, and artistic shots from many angles. Since I don't speak Russian, I watched with English subtitles and was able to follow everything fine. The actors did a great job and the storyline was interesting to follow.

I enjoyed this movie. It was engaging and never boring. The story kept a fast pace and the production/acting was very cool. Sometimes watching movies in another language with subtitles is tough for me. I didn't feel that way about this film at all.
