Well, a lot happened

Warning: Spoilers
This episode takes place obviously after everyone except Mac has gone back to the real world. It seems like with that finally out of the way, we would go for a breather episode. Instead, we got one that was more intense than ever. This episode tragically features Aida responding to her human body and trying to show love for Fitz but then going crazy because he already has a thing for Simmons. I admit that there are some times where it's a tad hard to take seriously what's going on with her. When Aida gets angry, it does look a little silly. It's still a great episode.

Aida obviously makes this episode and it's interesting to see her go through such a quick transition. She basically goes from saving everyone (including Mac) to now saying she wants to destroy the world. I guess they could have done a bit more with the robot duplicate subplot, but it's still done very well. Sadly, the best part is at the very end where we see none other than Ghost Rider emerge from the portal ready to help them again! I do feel pretty badly for everyone in this episode. We still get the great action scenes too. ****

AMAZING

I still have 10 minutes of the episode left, but the scene between fitz, aida & jemma in the containment room was INCREDIBLE !! fitz is introduced as a much more complex character with multiple layers throughout the season !

Warning: Spoilers
The whole part between fitz and aida where she flipped out and was a volcano of emotions was award worthy acting. She is such a dynamic character.

Re-watch thoughts

There is a scene in this episode where two character just sit in silence and cry, (while I cry with them) that is the embodiment of why I love this show, because while it has no dialogue it carries so much meaning, the actors and the characters just convey the feelings perfectly. This episode is the aftermath of the framework, and it is quite the messy situation for our agents, Fitz shines as the show's most layered character as he tries to reconcile his two lives and his complex relationship with AIDA is tested to the limits, as does his relationship with Jemma, Speaking of AIDA though, Mallory has been killing this role all season but took to new heights in this episode, portraying AIDA as she discovers new feelings was a joy to watch!
