I've seen my share of underwater documentaries, shows about keeping tropical fish as pets, the Octonauts, etc. And I've been to a dozen different public aquariums, including the prestigious Monterey Bay Aquarium. So, while I was ready to marvel at fish I'd seen before, I wasn't ready to be astonished again and again and again by all the fish species I'd never seen.
This is beautifully captured footage. Not blurry or murky. The fish rarely looked perturbed or even aware of the cameras' presence. And the music is a wonderfully relaxing complement for the footage. The other calming aspect (while not necessarily the most realistic) is that there's no violence beyond a little nudging between a crab and fish. This makes it perfect for my toddler. He can learn about the circle of life when he's older.
I can't recommend anything more highly for those who are looking for the *real* shock and awe of our planet.
