- Through completion of side missions and certain dialogue choices, the male protagonist can develop relationships with companions to gain statistical perks and bonuses.
- Some of these can further culminate in romantic scenes, including one with a male companion.
- During these scenes of intimacy, the fully clothed characters are depicted kissing and embracing, and one straddling the other in bed before the screen fades to black.
- There are no depictions of nudity, and sexual activity is limited to implication.

- Played from a third-person perspective, Zachariah will explore the environment and complete missions in order to progress the storyline. These missions often involve engaging enemies, including human thugs, soldiers and an assortment of creatures, in melee combat.
- The player will be able to employ 3 combat styles each with their own unique set of weapons such as blades, maces, staves, pistols and shields.
- Zachariah can also employ his special electrical powers to shoot lightning arcs and empower his melee weapons with electricity.
- Sneaking up on enemies allows him to attempt to stun them without raising the alarm.
- The level of violence in the game is mild, with limited blood splattering effects during combat and in non-interactive cinematic scenes.
- The player is often given dialogue choices to complete mission objectives in non-violent or non-lethal ways, such as through persuasion or letting enemies go after they have been defeated.

- There is very frequent use of coarse language in the game, where 'f**k' and its variations can be heard in the dialogue.

- 'The Technomancer is a sci-fi action role-playing game set on the planet Mars, which mankind has colonized. The main protagonist is Zachariah Mancer, a newly-initiated Technomancer who is an elite soldier enhanced with cybernetic implants and endowed with the power to manipulate electricity. Zachariah and his fellow soldiers are charged with protecting their home city of Ophir from rival factions.
