Hand crafted love for your eyes!

I saw Meeting MacGuffin at the Vidlings and Tapeheads film festival in Detroit. It's central message that we must protect the environment is critically important in the political environment we live today. Yet this movie is not preachy. I was entertained and delighted with not just the story but the unique style of the characters and it's Animation. It's handcrafted and made with such loving detail that it should inspire you to pull out your sewing needle and scraps of fabric and make something. This is part of a trilogy and I can't wait to see the series completed and screened together. If you get a chance go see this film.

A radical stop motion work indeed!

'Meeting MacGuffin' is a delightfully tactile and unique stop motion work indeed. It's both charming and unsettling at the same time, and all the while is completely visually engrossing for sure!

Your drawn in by the texture of the piece from the very beginning. Meeting MacGuffin is set in a post-apocalyptic future where humanity has fallen apart where the Clothespin Freaks attempt to reassemble human fragments and create an alternate form of humanity. It is engaging, thought provoking and very well put together. Ten minutes that are woven together so that it makes you want to see the whole trilogy.

A New Voice in Stop Motion

I saw this film at a festival and was blown away by its ingenuity, its creativity and message. Catya's film brings forward a new world, full of wonderfully strange characters, and surprises start to finish. I haven't seen a stop motion film this unique in some time, and can't wait to see what Catya has up her sleeve next. A visionary director and creative voice.

Most charismatic groundhog ever.

Everything is handmade with characters that are so strange and unique. They have very nice and very talented voices and personalities inside them. The creativity and imagination of Catya Plate stand out and I love the name of the groundhog, Gormal MacGuffin, and how he refers to the visitors who are brought to him as "homies".

I was fortunate to discover this unique film at a festival last year. A truly great work of art. Catya Plate has created a unique world. "Meeting MacGuffin" is an absolute visual feast from start to finish. The filmmaker's use of stop-motion animation is stunning and the voice cast brings great humor to this modern and original tale. Highly recommended!
