I really enjoy this show, it gives a lot of different ideas on pool designs. For those complaining about people spending lots of money, it's their money, they've earned it. Maybe someday I'll be able to have a pool as nice as what is on the show.

Want to know why this country is falling apart? Because people have money to burn on grotesqueries like the ones featured on this show. What a waste of talent, money, and water. When the wars of the future are being fought over water instead of oil, people will be able to look back on these decadent displays as examples of how clueless we were.

Series 8, Episode 1 "Magnificent Mediterranean Pool"
I've only seen this one episode and I was horrified at the dreadful pool and backyard design these clowns came up with, let alone the fact that the moronic homeowners said they loved it and gave the go ahead to spend hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars, on the monstrosity!
Taking over a year to install, there's sooo much concrete and very little in the way of trees and garden. I hope the Italians who hand carved the beautiful marble fountain, never see where it ended up. The two lovely hand carved lions were plopped either side of the pool, on an angle and looked ridiculous. This design has no imagination, a five year old could have done a better job.
I find it absolutely astounding that millions of dollars and beautiful marble, could produce one of the tackiest backyards I've ever seen! These buffoon garden designers have a lot to answer for. But then again, the owners said they loved it all! I wish them luck, if they ever want to sell this monstrosity, they'll have a battle to find anyone dumb enough to buy it!

How can people enjoy watching some of these people with more money than brains or talent who spend a boat load of money having 2 guys from California fly across the country to build them a pool when there are plenty of great pool and deck builders in their own areas. Try giving background on the owners so we can understand how and why they can afford to throw around such massive amounts of money, and tell us what it costs. Just another example of the wide gulf between actual normal struggling people and some spoiled rich people.
