In "Tahani Al-Jamil", Eleanor is convinced that Tahani is the one that knows that Eleanor doesn't belong here. To prove it, Eleanor pretends to befriend Tahani in order to find out her secrets. The two go around the neighborhood checking in on everyone. Eleanor steals Tahani's diary to match her handwriting to the note that was slipped under her door. Chidi begins to teach Eleanor about the ethics of good and evil. Michael tries to show Chidi some new hobbies after coming to the conclusion that Chidi's life's work was an utter waste. Tahani continues to struggle with the fact that her soulmate has taken an eternal vow of silence.
In my last review, I commented on how it's nice when comedies make an attempt to make their secondary characters three dimensional and not just punchlines that come walking in and out of scenes. This show appears to be making that attempt. It is giving Tahani her own feelings, emotions, drives, etc. Heck, they even devote the name of the episode to her!
I also liked how we saw more of the Good Place. We toured a few new houses, saw this big world that Michael had created. These are small but nice touches to add to a plot. And, obviously, for a comedy to be successful the jokes have to land and (so far) the writing has been really solid.
