Blood and frogs and locusts and intense sun...just a normal ancient Egyptian summery day.

Warning: Spoilers
The Pharaoh is confronted by Moses with the series of plagues, basically quick shots of the Nile being strickened by blood, hundreds of thousands of frogs (everywhere except in Hebrew communities), the swarms of locusts and a hard, crackling soil that leaves plants and animals dead and rotting. All Moses asked for initially was an opportunity for the Hebrews to go into the desert to make a sacrifice, and the Pharaoh agrees to allow the men but not the women and children, defeating the point of the ritual. That sets Pharaoh on a further path of hardening his heart, resulting in an edict that leads to a night of terrors.

Pharaoh's son here is just a baby, not the bratty prince who kicked Aaron's staff. While "The Ten Commandments" had the presence of the angel of death as a spooky green mist, nothing is seen here, only the screams of the grieving Egyptians making it obvious what is going on. A rather loud alarm clock goes off, notifying the Hebrews that freedom has visited finally, but the battle is only beginning. Once again very direct and lacking in the absurdity of over producing, this seems to be closer to what the day of Hebrew freedom probably looked like, but the camp element is sort of missed.
