After defeating Nazi Germany in May 1941, the victors must deal with the war's consequences. In addition to rebuilding the cities and infrastructure, feeding people to prevent mass hunger must also be dealt with. Holding the warmongers responsible for the outbreak and conduct of the war is undertaken at the Nuremberg trials. But all of this is overshadowed by a new threat, the rise of the Soviet Union, and a Cold War, and the fear of a nuclear conflict.
