Summaries

  • Zürich-born Thomas Borchert is a dis-barred lawyer who returns to his home town after a financial scandal in Frankfurt hoping to clear his name. He enlists the help of a family friend's lawyer daughter.
  • After many years abroad, lawyer Thomas Borchert surprisingly returns to his hometown of Zurich. In a trailer on his family's once stately home, he wants to gain a little distance - and evade the access of the German authorities. Because his previous employer, the FonSonic Group, fired him without notice because of a bribery scandal in South America. Two colleagues from Borchert were also involved in the dirty business on behalf of the company. But since one committed suicide and the other went into hiding, Borchert is to be made the sole scapegoat. Although he is willing to own up to his mistakes, he also tries to put a stop to the FonSonic. He wants to find evidence of this at a Swiss bank. But soon Borchert gets new trouble. It's about the Filipino domestic worker Amihan Singh, who wanted to steal food from the market and is now in prison. Borchert, who rushed to her aid as a casual observer, is now also being charged with assault. He asks his old friend, the star lawyer Reto Zanger, for help in vain. Instead, he recommends his idealistic daughter Dominique Kuster as legal counsel to Borchert. Dominique doesn't think much of the scandal-ridden Borchert, but still takes on the case of the frightened nanny. As it turns out, Amihan kidnapped the adopted son of wealthy couple Bea and Urs Frisch because the boy was believed to be in danger. But police captain Furrer doesn't want to believe either Amihan or Borchert. And what dubious role do Borchert's old friends play, the building tycoon Matthias Duplessis and his wife Charlotte?—ARD Das Erste
