Loved it!!!
ohhhmyposh28 October 2023
I felt inclined to leave a review because I'm not typically into psychological thrillers but this one was great! There was a perfect amount of suspense and twists and turns that I did not expect. I found myself wondering what was real vs what the lead character was imagining! The make up was great and very realistic. I was really by the acting overall! I found some of the characters to be genuinely funny, and it helped to lighten the overall mood of the movie. Very well done - would certainly recommend to those who love psychological thrillers, and even those who don't! You will likely be surprised!

Atmospheric Fever Dream
ycole-549335 November 2023
Went in completely blind and was pleased to discover a psychological piece that introduces increasingly more doubt about the intentions (and perception/sanity) of multiple characters while leaving just enough crumbs to reward an attentive viewer.

The visuals during the front end + daytime scenes are very realistic, setting the stage for convincing slips in and out of surreal/supernatural elements. Even greater support for these elements is established by Alfonso Freeman as Sheriff Lewis--whose entrance into the film (for me) got the intrigue rolling and provided gravitas across the runtime-- and Danny Vinson's performance as "Crazy Ned" Bowers. The latter is so compelling that viewers can't write off the questions that allow this film to walk a captivating line between genres.

All in all, without giving too much away, this film has a lot to say about credibility and recovery--particularly the limitations + agony of trying to pull ourselves out of the gutter in solitude-- with some surreal twists. Highly recommended for viewers that want a more intimate experience requiring careful attention. It ain't what ya think!

Two Thumbs UP!
corey-paul15 November 2023
If you are like me, it's difficult to find original films in a world filled with big budget safe formulaic movies. Torn is a rare gem that is a thought provoking psychological thriller worth investing your time. This movie proves low budget does not mean low quality. Actor/writer Jordon Alexander gives an award worthy performance along side a stellar cast. Whether you are considering buying a ticket to see Torn at your local theater or heading to a showing at the local film festival circuit, be sure to arrive early and get good seats! Two thumbs way up! Looking forward to seeing more from director Ryen William Thomas!

Excellent cast and crew brought this film to life and truly gave it a quality that stands above many other movies I've seen. There are many twists, and turns, and moments that make the hair on the back of your neck stand-up! It was a pleasure to watch this film. Definitely recommend watching this one! Kept me guessing & on my toes!! Add to your watchlist now!

Film is Phenomenal!

I'm a big fan of psychological thrillers, and "Torn" will keep you at the engaged from the beginning to the end of the film. "Torn"does not disappoint whatsoever. The pacing of this film is perfect. From the actors to the production staff, you can tell everyone involved was on one accord. I'm no directing expert but I found it to be outstanding. The excellent use of lighting, the camera viewpoints and the acting is an absolute delight for any film enthusiast to watch. This is a must see film, again, I'm a great fan of thriller/horror films and this is one of the best. The acting is excellent and the storyline is superb. Definitely recommend to watch again, and again and again.

Torn: Unraveling Shadows of the Soul
Vanelle31 October 2023
"Torn" masterfully blends the haunting elements of psychological thriller with the supernatural, resulting in a gripping cinematic experience that leaves you questioning the boundaries between reality and folklore. Directed by Ryen Thomas, this film is a tour de force in storytelling, aided by a stellar cast that brings depth and authenticity to their roles.

Jordon Alexander delivers a powerhouse performance as Peter Stube, a man grappling with the demons of alcoholism. His portrayal is raw and unflinching, capturing the torment and desperation of a soul teetering on the precipice of self-destruction. As the narrative unfolds, we witness Stube's journey to Bilford, a town steeped in werewolf legend, searching for solace and redemption.

Alfonso Freeman, in a supporting role, adds a gravitas to the narrative with his portrayal of Sheriff Mike Lewis, a figure who becomes pivotal in Stube's quest for self-discovery. Freeman's commanding presence on screen is a testament to his seasoned acting prowess, enhancing the film's intricate layers.

However, it's Danny Vinson's portrayal of Ned Bowers that steals the show. Vinson brings a haunting vulnerability to the character, making Bowers a standout figure in the town's tapestry of outcasts. Bowers is a man battling his own monster, and Vinson's performance is nothing short of extraordinary.

The screenplay, penned with meticulous care, weaves a narrative that seamlessly blends the psychological turmoil of its characters with the supernatural elements of Bilford's werewolf lore. The pacing is taut, maintaining proper suspense to keep the audience engaged.

In conclusion, "Torn" is a testament to the talent of its cast and crew and a must-see for aficionados of psychological thrillers and supernatural dramas alike. Bravo.

An ending that will keep you thinking for days...
richardkurien1 November 2023
If you're looking for a mind-bending psychological film and a movie that will keep you at the edge of your seat, this is the film to add to your watchlist. From the beginning to the end you are questioning if the narrator is experiencing reality or a "delusion". It was an experience to go and explore the psyche of the protagonist and the demons he was facing.

The production of the movie stood out as every scene was shot with a purpose in mind, a purpose that would put all the pieces together as the move hits it climax. Look forward for more work from this production company. 10/10 will watch again.

Amazing!
davidlpayne19 November 2023
A brilliantly taut thriller that challenges your senses every step along the journey. The story consistently challenges your perceptions as it unfolds amongst a hauntingly beautiful backdrop of the quintessential sleepy town with a dark past, and townpeople with darker secrets.

Well shot and deeply detailed through the lens of Direct Ryen Thomas, you'll feel the tension in every scene. Reality and fiction are constantly thrust together in chaotic poetry by Jordan Alexander's manic portrayal of a spiraling father and his desperate search for answers.

There's a building pace that drives the film along at a great pace, but my favorite moments are the unexpected twists and pops that completely catch you off guard. The subtle nuances in character development actually lead to you, the viewer, questioning what you've seen with your own eyes. All to lead you to an amazing crescendo of ending that will leave you sufficiently full and empty at the same!

great psychological thriller!
foxden7915 November 2023
This is a really great film. The story is well-written and directed. There are some twists that I did not see coming, which is so often not the case. An excellent cast that was really able to make make memorable characters. There is a suspense that builds up during the course of the film that reaches a fever pitch at the end! It was such a refreshing film experience that you don't seem to get any more with the big-budget stuff. I highly recommend this film if psychological thrillers are your wheelhouse. If you get the opportunity, please check out this film. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Very Wonderful Film!
stephaniekurien7 November 2023
The production and vision of this film was so wonderfully made. It was very immersive that I could feel what the main character was feeling. It will make you doubt and wonder what is real and what is not in this world. It all feels like a fever dream.

I really enjoyed how the question on everyone's mind is answered so subtly yet in a direct way. It shows creativity and the attention to detail of the scenes in a way you don't see done in many other films.

The message behind this film was very powerful and very real. I will definitely be watching this again and I highly recommend this psychological thriller to others.

Suspense
peggyforhire4 November 2023
Suspense, humor and a look at the human conditiion. You really get into Jordan Alexander's character Peter Strube and the personal struggles he's facing. I felt great empathy for him. Alphonso Freeman's sheriff is a strong and compassionate guy dealing with his own issues. Literally left me questioning at the end - real vs. Hallucination. Very well put together. Director Ryen Thomas let all the actors shine and develop their distinct characters. I felt like I knew and understood who these characters were on a personal level.

Cinematography was cohesive and lent credibility to the story being told.

Well worth seeing more than once.
