When the names of National Lampoon staff omitted from the movie are flashed on the screen, renowned cartoonist and NatLamp editor Shary Flenniken's name is misspelled (as "Sherry").

When Doug pulls up to his parents home in a Porsche-914 the engine is roaring like a 12-cylinder Ferrari. The 914 had a small fuel-injected Volkswagon engine.

As described in the "changed for pacing, dramatic impact or just because they felt like it"-part around the 34th minute: "Animal House and Caddyshack were made for different studios. "Brad," the studio executive, is a composite character."

The movie is therefor aware that Joe Lo Truglio's Brad character, specifically mentioned as the pain-in-the-ass studio executive from Universal during the filming of "National Lampoon's Animal House" can't be the same on "Caddyshack" because that movie was NOT a Universal Studios film. It was produced by Orion Pictures through its deal at the time with Warner Bros.

The man pushing the rotary lawn mower in the opening scene is pushing the mower backwards.

At Pete's Tavern, a few contemporary automobiles are reflected on the left window and swinging door.

Just before his death in Hawaii, Doug was shown driving a '87-'95 Jeep Wrangler. He Died in 1980.

During the golf course chase, several present-day vehicles can be seen on the road. The scene takes place in 1980.

When Doug is driving a Jeep in Hawaii the Jeep has square headlights. These didn't appear on Jeeps until 1986. The scene is set in 1980.

The waterfall's water visibly jumps in the short time it is on screen although it is a supposed continuous shot.
