The Federalist candidate that Alexander Hamilton supported in the 1800 election was Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, not Thomas Pinckney. Thomas was a younger brother of Charles C. and ran on the Federalist ticket in 1796. Also, the painting displayed when Thomas Pinckney's name was mentioned was actually a painting of Thomas and Charles C.'s first cousin once removed Charles Pinckney who was a signer of the U. S. Constitution.
