An amazing story of bravery, integrity and human goodness

Warning: Spoilers
My family and I lived through the whole Market Basket drama. We have shopped there for decades and, like most of our neighbors, were unaware of the Demoulas family drama that was going on behind the scenes until, suddenly, the beloved CEO Arthur T. Demoulas was fired. We worried that MB was going to be bought up by another grocery chain or worse, some investment firm, after which we'd be paying 20% more on average for groceries while receiving poorer service.

This movie contains lots of footage of the employees and customers, filmed while the crisis unfolded. It's a real inside look at the thousands of (non-unionized) employees who were willing to end their careers rather than work for bad management. The new management was able to replace the workers to some extent but when the millions of customers also quit in solidarity, it got really interesting.

I think this version compares favorably to We The People, the other documentary on the same subject. We The People contains more footage of commentary by outsiders, including the governors of MA and NH who got involved in the final negotiations, but Food Fight appealed more to me because it put the viewer right in the middle of the emotional turmoil that captivated our region for almost two months.
