While yes, this is a tearful and heartbreaking story, as a mother of a child with Down syndrome, we must recognize the uninformed doctors (some of which still exist) and that lack of information that would have led to this awful decision. We are grateful to those who came before us, to help us, lead us, guide us as we navigate this road. Grateful that we do not have to make a decision such as these parents. Individuals with Down syndrome are amazing and can do anything! Thank you for such a poignant film.

Emotional movie, loved it!

As an individual with a special needs sister (rett syndrome) this movie was very emotional for me. It's a tear jerker for sure. I personally think it is a great depiction of the struggles of a family with a special needs child. Especially true of that time period. My sister has always been at home. We as a family have made many sacrifices and we wouldn't have it any other way. We know that if the roles were reversed she would do the same for us. We must all remember every family's journey is different. Be supportive. Be kind.
Fantastic, dramatic and well produced

The producer did an amazing job of showing the heartache that exist when families are torn apart. Many countries still continue to tell parents the best thing for the child will be an institution because these countries do not offer the resources that can be found in the US today. Even in the US it can be very difficult to raise a child with special needs if you do not have a good support system.
A home with parents is always the best place for a child to be raised but I can see how these parents may have felt overwhelmed during a time when little help was provided. I hope by viewing this film people will reach out to those who have children with special needs and see what they can do to help provide respite.

I can't believe this happens or is still happening in today's world
Its confronting and shocking but has opened my eyes to a issue I knew nothing about but want to know more about how to stop this kind of hurt and abuse
Well done!!!
Down syndrome Regrets

What a great reminder that this still happens & that this should never go on. It is such an important history for the Down syndrome community & a way never to be towards individuals that have Down syndrome. They are perfect
So moving and outstanding

To be able to tell this story the way they did is so thought provoking. To think that was allowed is heartbreaking. To think this still happens is unacceptable. I have never cried so much. This movie needs to be seen by all.
Too disturbing

Warning: Spoilers
I have a son who is dual diagnosed with Down Syndrome and autism. This film makes me cry and have SO many questions. Like does his sister ever see him again. Do they visit. Is he ok. How is he treated. I'm so so sad. Like literally upset stomach and can't stop thinking about it.
