ANON focuses on a near-future in which digital surveillance extends to recording the memories of all people in real-time, so that crimes are immediately solveable by checking whose recorded memories include them committing the crime, whereas other films with similar premises such as 'Minority Report' focus on a 'superpower' such as precognition being used for predicting crimes before they are committed. ANON is a commentary on the surveillance state, and how much privacy we are prepared to give up in order for the state to keep us 'safe'.
