Missing something
kukloma28 February 2017
*spoiler alert*

Many people say this is the same old formula of 24, but much less convincing acting. Agree about acting, but even the formula has deteriorated.

In the old-school24, what would the arms dealer have done when surrounded by the cops? "I want full immunity signed by the president, in exchange for information." Standard 24's trick, but a realistic one.

What could possibly be a reason to cut his throat? He's in a unique bargaining position - can ask the immunity from prosecution and walk out a free man, and instead takes his own life.

What am I missing?????

With the twist and turns of the previous episodes, this one seems to be treading water and you can tell from the pacing.

We see more time between Carter and Grimes as they go looking for the arms dealer Gabriel. The episode wants us to sympathise with Grimes. The trouble is Grimes was stupid on arrival and the audience has little time for him. When we do meet Gabriel it seems that both he and Grimes has history as well, Gabriel also has little time for him.

Amira and Khasan's cell has been activated but they receive an unexpected visitor. Their father drops who claims to be on a business trip. However he tells them he knows what they are up to and wants to take them home. Khasan is having none of it and now is the chance for Amira to help her father and decide does she really want to go through this.

Henry Donovan has been taken into questioning for his role in betraying the Rangers. However I am concerned as to why Rebecca his daughter in law has been allowed to question him. She should not be allowed anywhere near him especially as Carter broke out from CTU with Grimes in the previous episode.

There is a nice shootout at the end in Gabriel's compound as the CTU come to Carter's aid.

The two previous reviewers have hit the nail on the head. The guy who cut his throat had no reason to. Why would he want to be dead to protect his game. The father shows up and disrupts the ease of the cell, as does the chemistry teacher. And old Donovan is able to get mealy mouthed when his son knows what is going on. No one seems to be interested in talking about his oil deal. He is the consummate narcissist.
