Unfortunately just a list of mini episodes
Nonomemes2 September 2021
Here we are, another clash of Far-East vs West style.

Goal of the author is to show Galko is a Gyaru but common belief about this category is often misplaced.

Or, translated in western language, Galko is a "very pretty" Gyaru in appearance, but in reality she is as sensitive as any other girl and she is just trying to partially imitate her older sister.

Together with Otako and Ojou she makes the perfect trio of teenager friends which should not be taken so easily.

The discussions are mainly on those topics "which should not be told loud", so some people would consider them not appropriate for children below 14, however, in this anime there is no fan service at all (although many people will say that Galko is "sexualized character" because they just look at pictures and are not able to read / listen).

Actually it can be quite informative.

Please tell me! Galko-chan

Warning: Spoilers
This series of twelve eight minute episodes follows high school girl Galko and her friends Otako and Ojou as they discuss various things… mostly of a fairly intimate nature. While not as central to the series the boys in the class also feature and give voice to their theories about girls.

This anime might not feature the best character designs and animation but it is still a lot of fun. The characters are great and their conversations are hilarious in a way that can be cringe-making at times. Some might be offended by some of the topics but the conversations did feel like the things teenagers might talk about… boys speculate what a girl's style of panties might say about her sexual experience and girls talk about breast sizes and whether bushy eyebrows mean bushy pubic hair! Some may find such conversations to graphic but I found it amusing for the most part. The main characters are nicely varied; Galko the 'gyaru', Otako the 'otaku' and the somewhat air-headed Ojou; they are likable and fun to watch. Overall I'd say that this series was a lot better than I expected and would definitely recommend it… but not for younger viewers.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

A instant high school comedy favorite
ja_kitty_7129 April 2016
After watching it, I knew this series is an instant high school comedy favorite and an anime favorite of 2016. The anime is based on a manga (which I had never heard of) about three unlikely teenage girlfriends with no official names and surnames as well. They are just nicknamed: Galko, Otako and Ojou. The girls are from different high school...ranks or whatever you call it. You know, I had like films and shows that set in high school ever since I was in the 8th Grade.

Anyhow, Galko is a sharp-tongued, buxom, popular "gyaru" (fashionista gal). Otako is a "otaku" (anime nerd) bookworm and Ojou is a proper, rich girl who is somewhat of an air-head. Throughout episodes, the three discuss topics that are a bit raunchy and deal with their friendship. It has been a week since I finished the series and admittedly I don't know which character I like, but I'll say Otako because I am a "otaku" myself.

So anyway, I had found the animation awesome and the story lighthearted and hilarious. And overall I really love this anime series.

A show about defying stereotypes and discussing female subjects in public.
arla-6793927 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of Japan's best anime out there. Why? It's common stereotype of "Garyus". When you hear of Garyu, you think they'd wear incredibly flashy makeup, outfits, , are often rude, and have a sex life, but for Galko, no. She's the very opposite of what you'd expect from a "Garyu". Her personality is very sweet, often gets emotional over movies, often gets sensitive over "questionable" topics, and her reason for staying up late is much more innocent than you think, she watches movies.

It's a bad thing in life that "woman" things shouldn't be discussed in public.

But that's what these three girls do in every episode, and there's no reason for them to be ashamed.

I'm absolutely pissed that the author of this series, commit a DISGUSTING crime and got arrested for it, but regardless, I love "Oshiete! Galko chan" no matter what!
