- Maura gets an exciting peek at the future with a visit to the plastic surgeon's office but fails to muster the same enthusiasm from Vicki on a fun night out. Josh visits an unusually upbeat Rita while Ali and Leslie struggle with intimacy. Sarah finds distraction from her personal troubles by spearheading an unorthodox approach to Judaism.
- Maura makes her first visit to the surgeon to discuss the entire issue of gender reassignment. While she is buoyed by the possible physical transformation, she is less than happy about what to her seems to be the bureaucratic and procedural hoops she will have to go through to go through with not the surgery but surgeries. She also continues to face quiet push back from Vicki, who admittedly likes her penis. Sarah is still reeling from the many recent disappointments in her life, which she takes out on Pony. One of those issues is Len's girlfriend Una, his choice to date her which Sarah outwardly wants to support. Another of those issues is dealing with Zack who is constipated. In talking to Zack's teacher about the issue, Sarah and Zack do not want to face the possibility that it may be psychosomatic and that their family unit may be the causal factor. But Sarah does possibly find a shining light in her life in expressing her form of Judaism. Josh and Rita have a trip down memory lane regarding their relationship and a heart-to-heart about what it has meant holistically for Josh. That talk does have a consequence that Josh was not anticipating. And Ali opens up to Leslie about her feeling concerning their relationship. Ali may not like what she hears in return.—Huggo
