A documentary about the first Bulgarian book of international importance that managed to interest the European scholarly world from the 19th century. The epos "VEDA SLOVENA" contains mythical and ritual folk songs of the Bulgarian-Mohammedans from the Southwestern Rhodopes. The texts were collected by teacher Ivan Gologanov on behalf of the compiler and publisher of the collection, Stefan Verkovic. One could not imagine a more unenviable fate than that of the Bosnian antiquarian, who devoted himself entirely to a foreign culture and remained faithful to the end. Similar is the drama of Ivan Gologanov, a teacher and defender of church independence, accused of the most serious crime - mystification of the people's memory.
