Some innocent brides aren't
pensman1 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Aggie has put a wedding together with Sir Charles Fraith who needs the money, but the bride is crying. Why? Aggie tries to comfort her, and the wedding does move forward but there is a slight problem. Someone has killed the bride the day after: She is found floating in a creek like Ophelia from Hamlet. Aggie promises the cops she will stay out of it; and she does for about two minutes. She tells Bill Wong to look into the groom; but he says that would be too obvious. Kylie's mother Freda says it has to be murder and it was. Kylie's body was deep frozen and then dumped into the river. Roy decides to help Aggie; besides he has fun doing so. Well one of Kylie's friends could be a suspect, Phyllis Heger. Buy before Aggie can talk to her, Aggie gets knocked on the head and rescued by Sir Charles, who asks her to back off the case. But she still needs to talk to the bridegroom, Zac Leeson. And there is a rumor that Kylie was blackmailing Bernie Barrington. Then slightly odd Joanna Field, who grew up with Kylie, has their lives chronicled in volumes of photographs. At this point there are just too many suspects. And the police end up arresting Sir Charles. But Aggie finally has a chance to meet Zac who wants to speak with her; but suddenly Zac is missing. And Zac's father Terry tells Agatha if she approaches any of his family that he will hurt her. In her own way Agatha figures out who did it and unfortunately finds the missing Zac (dead in a freezer) which means once again she is in danger herself. Will James get there in time? Believe it or not, Bill Wong gets to be the hero.

Here comes the bride

Warning: Spoilers
I've started watching Agatha Raisin recently, and definitely worth watching during the pandemic. In this episode a bride is murdered the day after her wedding, with the body frozen and then found floating in the river.

The fake reality TV show sub-plot was spot-on!

The watery bride
Prismark108 August 2016
Agatha attends a wedding and Sir Charles has the wedding reception. Agatha notices that the bride and groom look unhappy and reckons the marriage would be over in twelve months, in fact it could even be six months.

Actually the young bride is found dead in the river soon after the wedding. Sir Charles is acting rather suspiciously and Agatha poses as a television producer to investigate the bride's death.

A mildly diverting episode with a suspicious finger pointing towards Sir Charles and his dubious behaviour which is odd but I felt the actual culprit was rather obvious.

As I said before only Ashley Jensen and to a lesser extent Katy Wix make the series watchable. Agatha might be back on track with her relationship with James but actor Jamie Glover is certainly pitching it all wrong.
