Claire thinks something is wrong.....
ajs19973 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
And it turns out that something is!! Season 11 continues with Claire Novak, the daughter of Cas' vessel, feeling like there is something supernatural in the area and Sheriff Mills does not believe that something is up.

This episode seems slower than some of the episodes that have come before it, but it still keeps going with a great side story that this series has always been good at. We see the return of Alex, Claire, and Jody Mills and they bring more to this episode.

As the episode goes on, there are elements of a teenage drama with love and sex, then turns back into a normal stand alone Supernatural episode with a side plot that turns away from the main one but still stays entertaining.

Overall, this episode keeps going the speed that the season has gained with just a little of a slow down.

Nicely develops the girls

Warning: Spoilers
The little Jody Mills family is nice to see, has funny moments and mystery is good, the girls have great character development. Problem is that this girl who lived with vampires can't figure one out while kissing him when the show has shown that Sam could just figure it out by a handshake. Also exactly what are the limitations of being a vamp? We have only seen newborns be sensitive to light and sound, are we to infer they eventually get used to it and daylight isn't a problem at all...

A good episode that includes a GREAT scene

The episode overall is pretty good. It was nice to check in with Jody, Claire and Alex. Claire ends up getting a couple of touching moment with each brother and Alex gets fleshed out nicely. The script is a little stiff in the 3rd act around the vamps' plans but nothing egregious. The episode would be a solid 8 if it wasn't for one scene.

The scene in which the Winchesters have diner with Jody, Claire and Alex while discussing the case and teenager domestic drama is one of the very best scenes in all of the show's run. I have seen the scene like 30 times and it is hysterical, touching, layered, goes in such a unexpected-but totally proper-direction. Beat by beat the scene is starling in where it goes and how the writer (and actors) balances 5 very different characters all with a very different agenda. Add in that the director makes a simple diner-shot by shot-have such a distinctive feel and keeps the tone right on the angst, awkward, comedic melodrama and it is just put together well. Jared and Jensen have some of their most naturalistic, understated deadpan in this scene and just works.

So the episode ends up being a 10.

Started a bit slow, but ended brilliantly.

This was just a filler, monster of the week episode, but it was great at that. At first, it seemed like a teenage drama, but it quickly turned around and added a few interesting plot twist. This episode was a bit Sam&Dean-lite, but it wasn't that noticeable because of the great development of other characters. The story was tied to previous season's story which is great and there were a couple of flashbacks for those who don't remember. It can be watched on its own, like a standalone episode.

The only thing that was missing from this episode was the interaction between Claire and Castiel. That's why I think it should've aired earlier in this season, so we could get that too. They should make the Mills family appear a bit more, since they're an interesting addition to the show.

Also, if Claire dies, we riot.

I give it 9.5/10.

Final line did it fir me

As the guys prepare to ride into the sunset, the following passage did it for me:

DEAN: Are you gonna be all right now that you're out numbered again?

JODY MILLS: Ah, as long as everyone wears a condom, we'll be fine.

DEAN I want that bumper sticker

Claire is sooo annoying

It's hard to watch her being a whiny brat. I prefer to skip over the episodes she's in. Terrible acting. Move on with her story please. "....................

Boring ... Let the boys be boys
pimpwitoutahand19 December 2021
Not enough Dean and Sam but all we got was estrogen fueled boredom. Why make another filler hear me roar episode. This is why the show was failing later in seasons.
