They sure got me

Live performances aren't much my thing in video clips but this one conquered me with the great version to a Sonny and Cher classic, UB40 and Chrissie Hynde making a lovely partnership that seemed like the happiest of times. Bonus: Jonathan Demme is the author behind the clip and he made some interesting ones in that decade, including "New Order: The Perfect Kiss" (where's a page for it here? I'd like to talk about that video).

Mr. Demme's concept here is one that is so recurring lately in clips that some will find it boring. To me, it always works as a fine plot twist. The artists perform the song as a rehearsal test inside a stadium with some curious watching and dancing, all band and Hynde in perfect tune and all happy to be there. It goes on like this for half of the video while the other part covers the real performance in front an audience. However, the sound between both acts stay the same...not the original version they did on the album though.

What can I say...it's was fun to watch despite not being a spectacle from the 1980's in terms of video. 7/10

P. S.: New Order has a page about the video and I wrote about it.
