When Fujiko tells Michiko of the unsolved murder of her family, Michiko suspects that Fujiko might be the real culprit. Fujiko says that she has tried to exploit public sympathy since childhood.
Fujiko's high school life is going well, but she begins to suspect her boyfriend of having an affair with her friend, Anna. Fujiko loses control over her dark impulse, which leads to enormous tragedy.
At 20, Fujiko has obtained beauty with plastic surgery and meets the man she will marry. Fujiko became rich, has daughters, but then Shigeko, the aunt who raised Fujiko, appears before her.
Fujiko's memory of the person who killed her family comes back clearly. The mutilated corpse of Michiko's boss is discovered. Michiko hears that the suspected culprit has committed suicide.
Michiko finds an important clue in Sakiko's manuscript and heads to see Fujiko. They clash in a final interview. When all of the mysteries become clear, the conclusion is startling.
