Excellent

I've seen few television episodes this good in the past 20 years, from any country. "Professor T" really came into its own here, with the right balance of characterization, drama, and, most notably, interesting direction. This took "Professor T" from a kind of awkward dramedy reminiscent of "Monk" and "Ally McBeal" and made it unique, moving and visually riveting.

The Mask killings
Tweekums29 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This episode sees the police investigating the killing of a prominent lawyer and his wife in a way that exactly matches a crime that Commissioner Christina Flamant 'solved' fifteen years previously. The obvious conclusion is that Christina got the wrong man; he certainly intends to use the news of these identical crimes as part of his appeal to be released from prison. Meanwhile Professor T is in hospital with appendicitis that won't stop him trying to help the police but he is rather trying for his nurse… at least initially. As well as investigating the possibility that Christina got the wrong man previously the investigation looks into the couple's children… especially when it emerges that the step siblings were involved in an illicit relationship.

I really enjoyed this episode; the central mystery is intriguing and had a resolution that I certainly didn't see coming. There is also some great character development; Chief Inspector Paul Rabet appears to be dealing with his alcohol problem and there is a delightful scene where Daan comforts Annelies's father, who is suffering from dementia. There are also some great scenes between Professor T and nurse Magda Ceuppens; it was fun seeing how their relationship changed as they got to understand each other… guest star Hilde Van Haesendonck is a lot of fun as Magda; it is a pity that she looks like a one episode character. Overall a really good episode featuring an interesting mystery, great characters and the surreal moments one has come to expect from this series.

One I'll Have to Watch Again

Oftentimes, the pace of shows like these is a bit too quick. Add subtitles to it, and it makes for some interesting viewing. Without revealing too much, it was only at the end did the involvement of a victim in a prior case become clear. Also, how the ink on an old receipt had survived 15 years is as much a mystery as who did the crime. The ink on many of my old receipts fade to nothing in much less time. That's why this episode has received a 9 out of 10 stars from me. Otherwise, it was another good show. This episode highlights the intelligence of the characters very well. Dann was rather brilliant.

An Honest Series
Warin_West-El27 January 2023
Obviously, this show is not a documentary. So in that sense it's not completely honest. However, what I am VERY appreciative of is the fact this series continues to consistently reveal that seeming "victims" often aid the perpetrators or create blockages that help prevent the criminals from being apprehended by the authorities.

Many other crime series attempt to create a black and white or good guys / bad guys paradigm. This is an episode where multiple people are attempting to perpetrate a cover-up suitable to the proclivities of their individual egos.

The transition of the hospital nurse going from finding T irritating to respecting his gifts was a nice touch.

Another strong episode, slightly different this time as Jasper is not in control of himself never mind other people. The episode us a bit drawn out at 54 minutes long but there are some touching moments especially when Herman pays his daughter a visit. A good watch.
