It's a Hard Life

Don't ask too many questions about this guy's existence. There are no satisfactory answers. Things happen and he deals with them. Food, cocoa, books and so on are there. We have a few hints as to what ultimately happens. Just enjoy this pleasant little story. The deer is charming and sweet. He handles problems as they arise. That's all he can do.

Anything I say about this film will be a spoiler. So, I will not reveal anything related to the plot here, except that it's about a cute deer.

Underneath the storyline, a commentry on humans might be hiding. You might anticipate the ending before it ends.

Warning: Spoilers
I think it was an okay CGI animation.

The final twist might be a little bit obvious, but it was effective anyway. (I guess its apparent "obviousness" might be an effect of being recommended to me by Youtube after watching Knick Knack by John Lasseter)

From a technical standpoint, the animation is pretty average. A bit dated, I must say, with some textures and sceneries almost looking like plastic toys (Then again, considering the reveal at the end, I guess such detail could be considered a subtle form of foreshadowing)

But it was cute. Not a life-changing experience in any form, but still a decent short.

The final scene after the credits was pretty charming, and definately the best part from it.

First - an inspired story. second - a nice deer, very different by the others, for cocoa and books and obsession for cleaning. not the last - one of the inspired ends. short- a film like a Christmas coockie. sweet, with few drops of cinnamon and a glass with milk. so, see it. for a real admirable animation and for a sweet message.
