Very low production value but still great series

A super-low budget, crowd funded production inspired by Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog and Arrested Development. Story is great and well-written, acting is decent, and filmography is good as well. Definitely worth watching. The YouTube channel that made this, Door Monster (formerly White Lightning HQ), is also worth checking out. Not exactly a groundbreaking film but amazing when you consider that this was made by film students and a YouTube channel.

Excellent, surprisingly high quality and on-the-nose comedy.

Warning: Spoilers
Just about 1 hour of generally well planned comedy, with Tropes galore- some played straight, others lamp-shaded, some inverted and some even just pointed out.

Short (ish) summary- Master Fusion, Science enthusiast and heroic 'anarchist' wants to free the city from the clutches of 5 shady corporate superpowers. His team of allies are unexpectedly captured, bar the arguably most incompetent of all of them. Master Fusion, The aptly named "The Arsonist", The vain, dandy man named "Big Fist", A gun-toting maniac (with access to Hammerspace) named "Messier" and Master Fusions awkward money-laundering friend "Lincoln" must combat a pair of opportunistic and slightly deluded vigilante crime fighters, the law, a private security force with Highly ineffective armour and the biggest and scariest monster of them all- Corporate Megalomaniacs.

All in all, the 4 episodes are a hilarious and yet compelling story compressed into the space of the average TV show pilot episode. It's comedy is delivered incredibly well, and it plays to the sort of audience it is intended for perfectly. It suffers a little from its low budget, but it adds to the charm in its own way. It also has better script writing than some TV shows do, which alone is enough to warrant my recommendation- the small, subtle points of previous Episodes all culminate into an excellently played scene near the very end.

Two of the more noticeable parts of the soundtrack- and indeed, possibly the entire soundtrack, I admit to being a little preoccupied whilst watching this- are songs by "Shadow of Whales" (In particular, "Fall Back" is the Title sequence song, and "Pretenders" is played during the climactic scene in episode 4.)

The Guards themselves has, apparently, received enough attention that Door Monster are planning some new releases after a 2 year break. And it had a decent enough ending anyway, so we aren't getting Firefly'd on this one.

9.25/10, would highly recommend.

Amazing film, even with a small budget!

This movie had a budget of only $4,000 and is one of my favorite movies of all time! Extremely funny, family friendly, and I am so excited for the second movie!

Also, this is a movie, not a TV show?
