Dead on Arrival

I trudged through the premier. None of the jokes hit. All in all, it was not funny at all and played like a watered down version of "superstore" while trying desperately to emulate the same mechanics as "the office". The parts that had political bits felt forced and made the episode that more difficult to watch through. "Great News" is a very mundane and partisan sitcom that needs tremendous improvement if it ever wants to present itself as mildly humorous.

Unfunny and Offensive

Tag Line: Old people - worthless, young pretty people - good. How did the world survive before this latest generation of over privileged, pampered, spoiled brats got into some form of power? The ironic thing is, the only good there is in the show is brought about by the older cast members. This seems to have been written/created from inside a very secure little bubble. Where, mommy and daddy had enough money to shield you from all the reality in the world. Let me guess, you went to some ivy prep school in the beltway. And what happened to Tina Fey? 30 Rock was good, this is garbage. Now I'm just rambling, but I'm old, isn't that what we do. Aren't we Baby Boomers cute. We need to get out of the way of the youngsters, there is nothing they need from us.

HORRIBLE!!

This is the dumbest show I have ever seen. Horrible acting, horrible writing, just God awful. Anyone who enjoys this needs their head examined.

Seen the pilot and it's garbage

It's awful. It's one of the worst new shows. Terrible even by the flaming dumpster of Netflix produced standards. Tiny Fey is this generations Quentin Tarantino. More famous for having been famous for something they did years ago than anything they've done recently.

Sets sitcoms back 50 years

I stumbled upon this show and wondered why ? Why is this on ? Why is somebody watching this other than in error. The humor is childish as is the writing. It made me think that somewhere there is a 5th grader who is looking down on this. It was not funny, forced, silly and it contains every bad cliché ever presented on television. If this show survives into another season someone on the network needs to be fired. It makes me wonder what show didn't make the cut that this beat it.

Wow! (Emphasis on Ow!)

With Tina Fey producing and Andrea Martin leading, on paper this sounded promising. But wow was the execution was painful. The dialogue was prosaic, the performances plastic, and the direction banal. Caveat, I only watched the pilot. But there was nothing in it that made me think the second episode would be any better. Except I couldn't imagine it being any worse. This was so bad I turned it off three times to watch the World Axe Throwing League Championship. If I had to choose, I'd rather sustain a spectator injury at the axe throwing competition than sit through another episode of Great News. Because at least I know the axes would be sharp.

Tasteless jokes.

Firstly, what Is the mother taking to keep up her energy levels because that's not natural energy, and I want some. The acting seems extremely forced and I can only relate this to the fact that every cast member wants this to succeed. There is numerous main characters which gets confusing. I stopped watching after the MOST distasteful joke I've ever heard. The boss was doing something wrong and the mothers response was " WE SHOULD THROW ACID ON HIM"..... EXCUSE ME, what!!!! This is the first joke I've ever been offended by in my life, I live in the UK were there were numerous acid attacks that left people scarred inside and out, there lives are changed forever and all for a cheap joke that missed the mark completely for me. Terrible really terrible.
