Disappointing, but still good!

The Story feels sadly pointles, as it didn't added much to the main Story of Detective Conan.

Lost opportunity at the end

Warning: Spoilers
Everything up till the FBI sniper agent who couldn't take a shot at a huge helicopter firing large ballistic rounds at a Ferris wheel could could kill or injure thousands of innocents just cause he couldn't see an axel joint?!

Seriously, anyone, hell even a noob who take any shot at the helicopter just to bring it down without letting the villains keep shooting at the Ferris wheel which by the way they all knew was rigged with explosives which could have gone off anytime a a single bullet or spark hit it.

What a useless moment just to drag out the story.

And everyone who gives it a 10/10 probably hasn't watched any better anime stories just review bombing is sad.

Definitely not worth a 10.

Watch this first if you thought the Dimensional Sniper was horrible.

Warning: Spoilers
A thrilling vehicle chase opens the film, with Bourbon (Amuro Tooru) and Akai Shuichi pursuing a black organization member with incredible physical strength. After a protracted and intense pursuit along the highway, the BO member escapes. She stumbles down an alley, bleeding and dazed, only to collapse after screaming until she is completely blinded by a light show projected from the amusement park over the river.

The storyline is absurd. Although the films in this series have always been excellent, I feel like the caliber of the films has been steadily declining since The Quarter of Silence, the fifteenth installment. The Darkest Nightmare had an aspect that I found quite objectionable: it replaced unnecessary action scenes with excellent prose. Not because action is evil, mind you. Not at all. Action, when done right, can elevate a film to new heights. Here, it only serves to further degenerate the film.

I'm not fond of the movie's cast of characters, especially Bourbon, who seems to be closest friends with the Shonen Tantei. The character exhibits dubious behavior, and her final acts are judged as foolish. The BO characters, Sonoko, Agasa, Kogoro, and Ran, lack empathy and a kind heart. Although they make appearances in the film, the typical cast members Ran, Kogoro, Agasa, and Sonoko have little bearing on the story. They solely act as a visual cue that this is a Detective Conan movie since they are two-dimensional. I would much rather have them make no appearances in the film. Beneath their cracked exteriors, the BO characters lack empathy and a pure heart.

The bo felt threatening in a long time. The character of Curacao was my favourite.

Warning: Spoilers
"Meitantei Conan: Junkoku no naitomea" tells the story of a spy that reveals secret information, thus causing an uproar on many ends.

When I decided to watch this movie, I pretty much guessed it would be like most Detective Conan episodes and films, some kind of a murder case that is solved in the same way it always is, entertaining yet predictable. However, even if some reviewers say that this title doesn't add much to the main plot, it included an odd number of seemingly important characters, among them quite a few that you probably missed out on if you haven't seen newer episodes. Unfortunately, this made the plot a bit confusing because it felt like I was lacking some crucial knowledge but still it is a solid case and in a way better than most real life thrillers are.

All in all you should definitely look up the context before giving this a try but if you have or know all the characters and plotlines anyway, this will be much fun for you.

Darkest Nightmare: The Most Thrilling of the Detective Conan Movies so Far..
benjo_cm0929 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I have known Detective Conan series since 1997 and have find ways to watch d episodes whenever it permits. I have watched previous 19 movies as well..'The Darkest Nightmare' is a 'blockbuster', the most action packed of all, the best Black Organization movie compared to Movie5 ( Countdown to Heaven ) & Movie13 ( Raven Chaser ). It is the most entertaining movie up to date, slightly rivaled by Movie3 ( Last Wizard of the Century ) & Movie7 ( Crossroads in the Ancient Capital ). Fans of Shuichi Akai & Tooru Amuro Bourbon will be entertained witnessing an extended battle between the 2 protagonist on ferris wheels facilities. There is a frenzy trigger happy helicopter attack by Chianti & Korn on our Main Characters. Thanks to Kobun Shizuno ( director ) for altering the formula, the movie aim is to provide a riveting action experience, not the ordinary outclassing of wits that DC series provides. Curacao the BO introduced in the movie is a villain where the audience will sympathize. A girl with a rare illness, she was brainwashed by Vermouth & Gin to the hilt. We will feel the dilemma of the antagonist Curacao, showing her humane side of a dark BO personality. An avid fan who follows the series will have a deduction early on that Curacao will appear only in this specific movie and will suffer the sad fate that happen to BO Irish (Movie13 ). I don't watch DC series & movies in original air dates, as I've watched it from downloading in KissAnime. One regret I have is that though I thoroughly enjoyed 'The Darkest nightmare' from the comfort of my home. A film teeming with action, drama & jus' a light sense of humor deserves a bit of your hard earned money. There is no other way to view 'TDM' but the theatre big screen. Don't believe in critics that it's doesn't add much to the story. It is the best Conan Movie among the 20!

Curacao!

Warning: Spoilers
After I caught up to this wonderful series, I decided to catch up to the movies too, knowing that anime movies are a double sided axe.

Detective Conan movies range from ok to extremely good, but around 2010, they started putting extremely ugly and ugly to the eye CG animation. 2015's movie had probably one of the worst CG made sequences.

Then, this movie came. And it has the best CG action scenes by far, mixed with the main villains of the show and starring a tragic character.

This, is one of the top Conan movies. And a true victory of Conan, too.

Action packed all through the end
destructostorm30 December 2023
I will be honest without spoilers that there is no mystery in it which should be the point of Detective Conan movie but DC fans will love it anyways. Fully action focused the movie is like a Detective Conan version of Avengers where everyone is involved like FBI, CIA, japanese police, Public security and Black Organization (except Hattori and Kaito Kid) which was so fun that I rewatched it just afterwards. It is not going to develop the main plot in anyway and feels a bit distorting the main series as well but still is a must watch for DC fans. Obviously our boy Kudou shines here as always but this time takes help from people which was a first. Go for it.
