Salem, Ill: The closing days of the campaign are marked by great activity in both parties and the Democrats recruit William Jennings Bryan to aid the President's re-election. Subtitles: The great orator still retains his former campaign vigor. The Empire State's delegation to Shadow Lawn is the largest of the season. Washington, D.C: Mrs. Belva Lockwood, the noted international peace advocate who was the only woman ever nominated for the Presidency, celebrates her eighty-sixth birthday. Fort Sheridan, Ill. (Chicago only): Several thousand people from the Windy City participate in a rousing welcome to the boys of the first Illinois Cavalry when they return from the border. Subtitle: Judge K.M. Landis delivers the official speech of welcome. Denver, Col: Citizens turn out in large numbers to welcome Col. Roosevelt when he arrives here. San Diego, Cal. (Los Angeles and San Francisco only): The members of the Women's Hughes Trans-Continental Special receive a warm welcome when they arrive in the city. Subtitles: Many thousand orphans gather in the exposition grounds to hear their addresses. After the campaign oratory, the suffragettes seize some Fair pigeons. New York City: Many dignitaries attend services commemorating the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the chapel of St. Paul.
