- Two couples, one in modern times and another in Elizabethan times, meet and fall in love.
- Beautiful blond modern-day student Taylor is strolling around on campus, and spots her crush lazing about underneath a tree. Love at first sight, but there is still that distance between them. "We were both young when I first saw you, I close my eyes and the flashback starts, I'm standing there..." She imagines herself in Victorian times as Juliet, and sees him, as Romeo, courting her. She wears a magnificent, close-fitting, taylor-made, bare-shouldered ball gown, and sings this song from the arches of a balcony, and there are visions of couples engaged in ballroom dancing, with many splendid gowns. "See the light, see the party, the ball gowns, see you make your way through the crowd to say hallo... little did I know, that you were Romeo, that you were throwing pebbles, and my Daddy said 'Stay away from Juliet'... and I was crying on the staircase begging you please don't go!"
The scene alternates between the (fantasized) past and the immediate present, in which the two young lovers move closer together. In the (imagined) past, they have a clandestine rendezvous in the woods.
"And I said, Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone, all that's left to do is run, you'll be the Prince, I'll be the Princess, it's a love story, baby, just say yes."
In the present, the two young lovers snuggle up closely, looking deep into each others' eyes. "We were both young when I first saw you..."
