Bojack continues his struggle with his childhood and his abusive mother. He and the gang need to give credibility to the Secretariat character by showing his drop into depression. Bojack is asked to cry in the scene and can't because he can't do that in public. We get more and more of the substance of this character.

One very emotional scene!

This episode was another hilarious episode mixed with deep and emotional moments of character!
I really enjoyed the plot of this episode! It slowly goes from something average to something much more! Princess Carolyn, Diane and BoJack all have their own little arcs where they come to a moment of realization!
While I did enjoy Dianes and Carolyn's, i would have to say that BoJack's where the most emotional! The episode starts of with a dark scene from his childhood and near the end, he is once again, indirectly reminded of how broken he is! How he became secretariat.. in that moment! That scene gave me chills!
Its hard to cry in front of others, its easy to cry alone!

Bojack horseman episodes seem to have this structure of on the surface being a comedy with a dark/sad moment (usually towards the end). While this episode certainly has that, instead of having one shocking moment at the end, it has about 3-4 sad moments through the episodes that add to the impact of the whole episode. As usual, the jokes land brilliantly, but its the depth of the characters and sadness of the story that carry the show
Good mix of emotion

Bojack and the film crew look to do a bit of location shooting for key scene in the Secretariat movie.
This is another powerful reflective BoJack episode that looks into his past at some key moments for the character. The scene involving his mother and other moments of self reflection are the most memorable for me.
There is some strong humour relating to the filmmaking elements of the plot, especially the Nixon-related scenes. Kelsey Jennings is a good character and has some of the most entertaining scenes.
The scenes involving Diane are good with the dark humour and satirical character Sebastian St. Clair, who you can probably liken to any number of self-obsessed and self-important media personalities.
